Hey, Hextronik, I just wanted to drop in and give you something more than a pre-written response. I'm sorry if this whole process seems impersonal; it is impersonal at times. Anyway, the version of the article that I tagged for deletion was pretty egregiously promotional, which is why I tagged it. |
The first thing I'd like to say is that it's nothing personal against you! Lots of people have had articles of theirs speedily-deleted; it's not a big deal. Nobody will hold it against you. |
The second thing is that the article as it stands is still too promotional for Wikipedia. Saying things like "Within the industry HobbyKing are widely viewed as a global powerhouse", "As of 2012 HobbyKing continues to build an extremelly popular brand aswell as enjoying wider acceptance among the major players in the industry", or "HobbyKing has become most famous for applying global capitalism" are statements that just don't coincide with a neutral point of view, particularly when they're unsourced. It can be really hard to write a neutral article about something that you're deeply passionate about, so if this article does get deleted, I'd recommend that you work on a draft version before trying to submit it again. What you can do is write an article here, in your personal sandbox, and when you think it's ready, you can submit it to Articles for Creation, which will get you some feedback on its neutrality, among other things, before it gets made into a real article. |
Before you do that, though, there's another thing you have to consider: notability. The thing is that anything that has an article in Wikipedia has to be notable. Notability, at its most basic, means that an article's subject has been given significant coverage in reliable sources. In Wikipedia articles, we need all our material to be verifiable, which means that it must be backed by reliable sources. At a fundamental level, our content is only as good as the sources that support it. Subjects that aren't notable won't have enough reliable sources to provide us with things to talk about, and without anything to talk about, we can't really have an article. The minimum standard for notability expresses this in the general notability guideline, but there's some more specific guidance for the notability of companies here. It would be a really good idea if you read these notability guidelines, and think about whether the company you'd like to write about is really notable. |
Again, don't take it personally! Wikipedia can be a really fun place when you get the hang of it, so stick around! And even if a company isn't notable now, it might become notable in the future, so we might just need to wait until more information comes out about it. If you have any questions about what I've posted here, please feel free to ask me either here or my user talk page; I'd be more than happy to answer them. Another good place to ask questions is the Teahouse, where you can ask any question you like about Wikipedia, and the hosts (of which I'm one) will be glad to answer to the best of our ability. Speedy deletion nomination of Hobbyking
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Hobbyking, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Writ Keeper ⚇♔ 04:26, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
