Gareth Evans (born 18 April 1986 in Dundee, United Kingdom) is a Scottish-born Welsh and British weightlifter[1]. He has competed at the 62 kg weight category. Although born in Scotland, at Commonwealth Games level, Evans chose to declare for Wales.

On 11 June 2012 it was confirmed that Evans had been selected to represent Britain at the 2012 Olympics.[2]

London 2012 Olympics

Evans represented Great Britain in the London 2012 Olympic weightlifting, competing in the 69kg event. Evans lifted 130kg at ExCel, but failed his attempt at 133kg. In the clean and jerk, he lifted 158kg, but failed to lift 160kg. Evans finished 8th overall in group B.[3][4]

Evans resides in Holyhead.
