The Australia women's national lacrosse team represents Australia at women's lacrosse. It is governed by Australian Lacrosse Association. They are currently ranked 2nd in the world, narrowly behind United States. [1] They have won the Women's Lacrosse World Cup twice, and were runners-up 4 times. In the inaugural FIL Women’s World Cup in July of 2009, the United States reclaimed the gold by winning a tightly contested final match-up over rival Australia 8-7 in Prague, Czech Republic [2] The team are now preparing for the 2013 FIL Women's Lacrosse World Cup, which will be held in Oshawa, Canada.[3] The team is a full member of the Federation of International Lacrosse.[4]
