Hey, I noticed that since the info above was posted you have made over 30 edits that you marked as minor, but in fact only two of them are minor. It would be great if you would stop marking your edits as minor. Don't do it at all until you know exactly what a minor is. It's much better that one or two minor edits are not marked than that lots of "major" edits are marked as minor. Thanks! --bonadea <small>contributions talk</small> 09:09, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Lacey Schwimmer, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted (undone) by ClueBot NG.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Chelsea Kane with this edit. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Coasterlover1994Leave your mark! 22:43, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Scarlet Moon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion () tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Warfieldian (talk) 19:45, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at My Celebrity Juice

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from My Celebrity Juice, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Why Do All Of My Articles Get Deleted?

Hi my name is CPGirlAJ. I would like to ask the staff a question. I am wondering why all of the articles I made are deleted. It might not be a good article at first but I will try to edit it. It doesnt take one day to make an article so I take my time.So please dont delete my next article. I am not trying to make Wikipedia a bad enviroment so please listen. Thank You.

Hi CPGirlAJ. Please read the information provided to you in the many notices above. If the topic you are writing about is not notable according to Wikipedia's definition, and if there isn't significant coverage about the topic in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, then there can't be an article about that topic. It doesn't matter how well-written an article is, if the topic isn't notable. You can read this introduction to creating Wikipedia articles and also use the Article Wizard which is linked above. Finally, there is no "staff" at Wikipedia - we're all just editors (though some editors have more tools at their disposal - those are called administrators, and they are the ones who are able to delete articles.) Thank you! --bonadea contributions talk 20:35, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You Wikipedia!

Thanks for not deleting my latest article. I guess all of my other articles got deleted because the had a bad reference so next time I wont do that again. I cant believe I finally made my first GOOD article. And again THANKS!!!

No, the deletions of your previous articles had nothing to do with having "bad references" - please take a moment to read the information above which tells you exactly what the problem was with each of the articles. The latest article you created also does not show any credible indication of notability, just like the previous articles. In addition, it has no references which all Wikipedia articles must have, and in particular articles about living people. Please add references from reliable third-party sources. And again, please read the information you have already been given - if the reasons why your articles were deleted are still unclear to you, you can post here, or you can place the text helpme here on this talk page with your question under it, and somebody will be along to answer your questions. Thanks! --bonadea contributions talk 20:37, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Tina Wells has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the prod blp tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. bonadea contributions talk 20:19, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why did my perfect article get deleted?

Why you delete my Tina Wells article get deleted. If something was wrong with it you could of told me. And you said you would give me ten days to fix my problem with the article so I was going to do it the next day but when I logged on it was already deleted! All the hard work I did on that article is now gone and really want it bad! I just hope I can! So please don't delete my next article. THANKS!

Hello?

Hello? Is anyone gonna answer any of my questions? I don't want to wait forever so please answer my questions! THANKS!-CPGirlAJ:D

Well, the questions you have asked have all been answered higher up on this page, but to summarise: the reason your articles have been deleted is that they did not show that the subjects of the articles were significant. Wikipedia does not have articles about everything. All articles must be about notable topics. Please click on the blue links in the messages above and read the information there. There is a lot to take in, and it can perhaps seem a bit confusing at first - if you want help creating an article you can use the Article Wizard which will walk you through the steps. Before doing that, you might want to read the information here.
If you still think this is unclear, please put the text helpme on this page and ask your questions. Somebody will be along to answer your questions. Thank you! --bonadea contributions talk 19:19, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi CPGirlAJ. I saw your user page and I said: awwwww. I feel bad for you that your articles got deleted! I appreciate your perseverance! Have you looked at Wikipedia:Requested articles? There's a whole list of articles that people want someone to write. I guess a listing there is not a guarantee that the subject is notable, but it's maybe a good place to start. Herostratus (talk) 17:51, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, I ran into you over at The Ropers of all places, where I addressed your question. How are you doing, everything OK? Herostratus (talk) 04:05, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am doing fine. It's just that another one of my articles got deleted again. --CPGirlAJ (talk) 18:17, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Is that Katy Garner? But the editor below said that was a hoax. If it is, you shouldn't do that; but if it's not, he shouldn't be saying that. So which is it? Herostratus (talk) 19:27, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The article I made about Katy Garner is a article that I really wanted to make. She isn't really a real person, but I just wanted to make an article that would be very detailed. Maybe someday she will be a TV character... I guess I shouldn't have made a fake person into a article. I won't do it again. CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:32, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, OK. By the way, you can create articles and stuff in your userspace, like this: User talk:CPGirlAJ/NameOfPage. That's a good way to to test edits, and also to create articles that aren't ready yet for the main space. Herostratus (talk) 02:42, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't exactly get how you can create a article from your user space. CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:03, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just type your user name, a slash, and the name of the article you want to create in the search box. Suppose the article you want to create is "Joe and his dog". Type "User:CPGirlAJ/Joe and his dog" in the search box and hit enter. Since that page doesn't exist, it will take you to a a page saying "Wikipedia does not have a user page with this exact name" and the first option will be "Start the User:CPGirlAJ/Joe and his dog page". Click on that and you're all set.
Later, when you're happy with the article (I'd be glad to check it for you), you use the Move function to move it into regular article space. Herostratus (talk) 03:02, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I would like you to check out my latest article I have created. Here is the article name: List of three's a crowd episodes. If you like my article, then you can rate it. If you think that it is not resourceful enough, then you can change some stuff on the article. CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:39, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is fine work CPGirlAJ, and thank you! It looks pretty good. I added categories. Herostratus (talk) 02:56, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
When I tried to create an article like this: User:CPGirlAJ/whatever it deleted the article the day after that. Why did it do that? You said that they wouldn't delete the article but they still did? How do you create an article without it being deleted? CPGirlAJ (talk) 20:01, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I did. Forgive the lesson if you already know this, but if you click on the "View History" tab you get this, where you can see I made three edits, and if you click the round box next to the edit before my edits (the one by User:24.57.229.254), then click the round box next to the my last edit, you have a range of edits; and if you then click "Compare selected revisions" it shows the net result of all my edits, here.

As you can see, I got rid of Joey and added Debbie Hopper. I did this based on the IMBD entry for the show, here (it's the top link in the "External links" section. Joey was only in 2 episodes. Debbie Hopper was in 5. Who Debbie Hopper is I do not know. I've never seen the show, I don't think. And IMBD doesn't offer any more info. But some Googling or whatever might turn up something. However, I see that this doesn't help, and tv.com doesn't help. Perhaps drilling down from here would turn up something, don't know. Herostratus (talk) 01:48, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete my article without giving me time to edit it? You know it takes a lot of time to make an article. The article I created before this article was given me a 10 day notice to fix the problem I had on the article but it was deleted the next day. Why don't I get anytime to perfect my articles? CPGirlAJ (talk) 18:14, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The answer to your question is found in the warning that I had left below. Do not create hoaxes on Wikipedia, such as you did with articles like Katy Garner and Scarlet Moon. Adding made-up or false content to Wikipedia is considered vandalism and will result in an editor being blocked from editing. CactusWriter (talk) 19:48, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

October 2011

Do not create hoaxes to Wikipedia, such as you did with articles such as Katy Garner and Scarlet Moon. Hoaxes are caught and marked for deletion shortly after they are created. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia – and then to correct them if possible. Please do not disrupt Wikipedia. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia to learn more about this project and how you can contribute constructively. Thank you. CactusWriter (talk) 23:40, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tina Wells is not a fake person that I made up into a article, she is a real person. I did some research about her on the internet. I am still wondering why you deleted that article, you said you would give me a 10 day notice before it was deleted, but it was already deleted. CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:37, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:04, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, List Of Katy Perry Songs

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, List Of Katy Perry Songs. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Katy Perry discography. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Katy Perry discography - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Filing Flunky (talk) 21:14, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the article is not the same as Katy Perry discography. Because Rihanna has a discography too and she also has another article called List of Rihanna songs. Another reason why there should be a List Of Katy Perry Songs because in the Katy Perry discography, it does not include all of her songs. CPGirlAJ (talk) 22:19, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You're right. I contacted the deleting admin and he restored to my userspace.
 • You could have contested the deletion by going to the article and clicking on the "contest this deletion" button, like it says above
 • If you didn't get to that in time, you could have contacted the admin who deleted it. (You can get this info by clicking on the red-linked name of the article, it takes you to a page that says "A page with this title has previously been deleted" and gives the name of the admin who deleted it).
I'm not chastizing your for not doing this, I'm just saying that you could have done that. Anyway, I contacted the deleting admin and got the article text back. I put in my userspace, here: User:Herostratus/List of Katy Perry songs.
I am using the format that List of Rihanna songs used. I figure that must a good way to do it. It does use complicated table code though. I do believe that this will be a fine article when done and we can put it back into article space.
Probably the reason the article got deleted was that it wasn't as fancy and finished-looking as the Rihanna article. Articles aren't supposed to get deleted for that reason, but in real life this happens. It shouldn't have been speedy-deleted, but if had been sent to WP:AFD it would probably have gotten deleted that way.
A good idea is to work on articles in your userspace. Instead of creating List of Katy Perry songs right off, create User:CPGirlAJ/List of Katy Perry songs. Then you can work on the article at your leisure. When it's ready, you can use the Move button to move it to List of Katy Perry songs. That way it's less likely to get deleted.
You're doing fine. The article shouldn't have been deleted. We'll get it back.
If you want to work on it while it's in my userspace (at User:Herostratus/List of Katy Perry songs) that would be welcome. We need to get that third album and the other songs in there. You may not agree with some of the things I'm doing and we can talk about that. The table code might look pretty scary. It does take some practice, but it's good practice. Take a look at if you like and message me if you have questions, I can walk you through it. Cheers, Herostratus (talk) 04:16, 25 December 2011 (UTC)  ::::Thank you. That would really help. I am already a creator of 2 articles (that have not been deleted) and you have helped me all the way. CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:18, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What have you done!!! The article is a complete mess!I understand the fancy songs column but you didn't have to write "Katy Perry" about a million times!!! Maybe it was just my computer but, I saw what I saw!!! I understand your contribution but it was wrong. CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:37, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's alright, relax. I just wrote "Katy Perry" a million times to fill the space for now, so as to see how it will format. You, or I, can fill that in with proper text anytime. So relax! I used List of Rihanna songs as a template for the rest. That article has a couple of paragraphs about Rihanna as an intro. I figure this one should too. We can just steal it from the main Katy Perry article, with whatever changes are needed. Herostratus (talk) 04:47, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, but you could have typed something a little more detailed then that. Anyway, I added a little more songs into the list so it should be better now. CPGirlAJ (talk) 20:34, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your image was inserted successfully into Lady Gaga, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thank you. There is a consensus to use the current image and that's how it will stayLegolas (talk2me) 06:05, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by the image has been successfully inserted into the article if the image has been removed. I don't get why the article has to have that exact same image. People should be able to change it anytime. CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:30, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, yes, but. It's in reference to this edit I presume. Note the tag "To avoid edit warring, please discuss on the talk page before changing the image". What this tells me is that, probably, there's been various go-rounds about which image to use and the existing was settled on, so one shouldn't change it without first asking on the talk page (and probably looking at old talk page threads to see what the deal is). It's possible that someone put the message up wrongly, though, and just decided to put in their favored image and put up the tag on their own say-so. This also happens. But unless there's evidence of this (e.g., lack of evidence that there's been a discussion/consensus around the current image) you'd have to assume that the tag is legit. In which case, it's probably not a good idea to change the image without first discussing on the talk page why you want to do that. In any case, tag or no, per WP:BRD if the image you put in is reverted, it'd be up to you to go to the talk page and convince the reverting editor (and other editors) why the image you prefer is superior. Herostratus (talk) 19:49, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CPGirlAJ

CPGirlAJ, what is going on? According to User:Fastily, the article List Of Katy Perry Songs consisted of the string ""ggggggggggggg". This is not a good article. Was your intent to insert text in the article later, or what? If so, you should have created the article in your own userspace (User:CPGirlAJ/List Of Katy Perry Songs first and then only moved it into main article space. Is this how the deal went down, or what? Herostratus (talk) 14:56, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the string of ggggggggggggg's was at another article I was confused about. There is a article called One Of Boys (Katy Perry album). When I used the signs on one of my articles for that article, it said that it didn't exist. So when I clicked on that, it said Editing One Of The Boys (Katy Perry album). Even though there is a article with the same name, it still says that the page doesn't exist. So after I typed that string of ggggggggggggggggggg's, I typed in that article name and it redirected me to the One Of The Boys (Katy Perry album) that existed, instead of the one I just created. Why did that happen? CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:25, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, OK, right, I got those two articles mixed up. Hmmm, well, it's because of capitalization. Note the difference:
So those are two different articles (in a way) because of the different capitalization. But if you type "one of the Boys (katy perry album)" in the search box, it will take you to One of the Boys (Katy Perry album), cos the search box works that way. So the search box thinks that "One of the Boys (Katy Perry album)" and "one of the Boys (katy perry album)" are the same article (sort of), but they aren't really, and the knows this. It is kind of confusing. Herostratus (talk) 05:33, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, ok. That makes more sense now. Well, lets see if this works. One of the Boys (Katy Perry album). Now that should work. CPGirlAJ (talk) 18:42, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please check this article out? It doesn't seem to work out right. I was trying to make an infobox for this article, but it doesn't work. COuld you see what is wrong with it? Here is the article: User talk:CPGirlAJ/Alana Mansour CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:13, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi CPGirlAJ, I saw this note and think I know what the problem is: every time you have a . Because you have before the URL but no after it, the formatting gets a bit messed up - but it's easy to fix, just add }} after the URL :-)
Hope this makes sense. --bonadea contributions talk 21:45, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I get it. Now it makes sense. Thanks for the tip. CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:13, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, if you start a comment with a space it doesn't format properly.
Like this comment, there is a space in front of it so it puts itself in a blue box and doesn't wrap around.

What addition are you talking about? You mean the images that I posted on Wikimedia Cmmons? Those pictures should not be a violation to the Wikimedia because it is just like any picture, you find it on the internet and post it on Wikimedia Commons. That is what everyone else does. Where would you get a license from if you didn't take the picture? CPGirlAJ (talk) 23:17, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:COPY to learn about Wikipedia's policies on copyright, which explains it better than I can. Basically, if I take a picture and license it, it is my property, correct? Suppose, then, that I allow a news company to use my picture in exchange for money. If a user, such as you, finds my picture online and uploads it to Wikipedia, claiming it is his/her own work, that is considered plagiarism, a copyright violation. The high-quality images you are referring to that "everyone else" uploads are allowable under Wikipedia's fair use policy. Historical images, which cannot be recreated under any circumstances, and cover art for albums, which cannot be recreated without a copyright violation, are two examples of images that may be licensed under the fair use tag. Images of Katy Perry, however, are neither historical nor cover art, so only free images are allowed. Eagles 24/7 (C) 23:34, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I get it a little bit. But, there is one thing I need to know, how do you license a picture? CPGirlAJ (talk) 23:42, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What are you trying to license? Eagles 24/7 (C) 23:44, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A good simple rule of thumb for photographs, CPGirlAJ, is "If you took the photo yourself, it's OK to use; if not, probably not". There are exceptions in certain restricted cases but these are rather complicated. Herostratus (talk) 02:45, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What if it is album art? CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:35, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, right. As I said, it's a simple rule of thumb to use images that aren't your own, and there are exceptions. One is an image that someone else has made but they've released under an acceptable license; see Wikipedia:Image use policy for some details on how to use these. As to album covers, Wikipedia:Non-free content -- specifically the section WP:NFCI -- describes these, but like this: "Cover art from various items, for visual identification only in the context of critical commentary of that item (not for identification without critical commentary)". In practice, articles about an album usually have a picture of the album cover, so I guess that's allowed. You couldn't use the album cover in any other article though. Found your missing article!

Hello, CPGirlAJ. You have new messages at Herostratus's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the Talkback or Tb template.

Also, nice work on User:Herostratus/List of Katy Perry songs, you got the hang of the table formatting, very good. I think that songs from The Matrix (album) also should go in this article, what do you think? I wrote up a proper heading also (you can change it any way you like of course). Herostratus (talk) 05:40, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I guess it should be in the article too, even though it isn't mentioned a lot. CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:56, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Peacock

Response to your query at the Help Desk: When I search for "Peacock (Katy Perry song)", I am taken directly to the article Peacock (song), not to the album article. The reason that Peacock (Katy Perry song) was moved to Peacock (song), leaving a redirect at the former title, is that Wikipedia's guidelines for disambiguation in article titles—and specifically Wikipedia:Naming conventions (music)—call for the use of no more disambiguation terms than are necessary: Since WP has only one article about a song called "Peacock", the "Katy Perry" part isn't necessary to distinguish the article from other articles. Deor (talk) 22:42, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

...and you moved it anyway. Don't do it again. Eagles 24/7 (C) 03:58, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why can't I move the article, it needs to be moved. CPGirlAJ (talk) 19:58, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Because it does not need to be moved. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:08, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I guess that does make some more sense. CPGirlAJ (talk) 20:15, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove other people's talk page postings

Hi CPGirlAJ, please don't remove other people's talk page comments as you did on Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/2011 December 26. While the comment you removed was unnecessarily inflammatory, other editors had responded to it and the discussion had been archived. Removing the first comment made the whole section confusing, since the comments were there without the post they commented on. Also note that you accidentally removed part of the template which hid the discussion from view -- it's a good idea to use the "Preview" button to avoid that kind of error. Cheers, --bonadea contributions talk 23:03, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's coming along. We need to add the chart positions for singles that broke the US or UK top ten. It's close to ready.

What's the deal with the song "A Cup of Coffee"? Was it ever released, or what? Herostratus (talk) 19:10, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What's the deal with "Use Your Love"? She didn't appear on The Outfield's Play Deep album, did she? She sang a version of the song... where was it released? Herostratus (talk) 19:16, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I am not really sure about that part. I wanted the article to be perfect so that's why I wanted you to check it. I'm still working on the article, so give me some time on the mistakes. CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:00, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The article is already ready so can we copy and paste it to List of Katy Perry songs? CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:44, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't. The proper way to do it is to "move" the article. Look up at the top for a pull down arrow click it and look for move.Naraht (talk) 21:48, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'll move it.Naraht (talk) 21:48, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Don't move it yet. If I don't copy and paste the entire article, then it might get deleted and I would have to start all over again. CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:50, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I *very* much understand you not wanting to lose all that work. You can still copy it from the mainspace. *No one* is going to put in an article that organized and *referenced* up for Speedy Deletion. (At worst, which is *extremely unlikely*, it would go through the normal RFD process which take a week, and which would give you plenty of notice.). There is a legitimate reason for doing move rather than copy and paste. What parts of the article you did and what parts Herostratus did are part of the history of the article, just as much as what went on prior to moving it to mainspace.Naraht (talk) 22:00, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if what I did caused you problems. I've just dealt with recoveries from cut and pastes to Mainspace, they aren't fun. I think the article is *wonderful* and will back you and Herostratus in any effort to keep it from being deleted. (And I copied the article to User:Herostratus/List_of_Katy_Perry_songs_backup, just in case.) I wish the last article I created was as good:Ceres (Women's Agricultural Fraternity). Naraht (talk) 22:07, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's alright CPGirlAJ. He was just trying to make sure you didn't do a copy-and-paste. Those aren't allowed cos all the edit history is lost then (and the edit history, besides being useful by itself, is required for our copyright rules -- if you read the fine print (you don't need to), when a person writes something in the Wikipedia, he releases the copyright, but only if what he writes is attributed to him, which requires the edit history to be intact).

It's fine. The article is fine. Nobody is going to delete it now, don't worry. It's fine work and you should be proud of your part. Herostratus (talk) 05:09, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Katy Perry Songs

If you want to delete this category (not article), you can put it up for deletion at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion. But I should tell you, your chances of getting it deleted are slim to none considering how useful it is. Dismas|(talk) 21:36, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Short answer, the category should stay even if the article is created. In fact the article should both be added to the category with sort order entry of '*' and set as the main article, see Category:Alvin_and_the_Chipmunks_songs for an example of the second. Go ahead and create the article, I'll be happy to show how the article and the category should interact.Naraht (talk) 21:41, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone delete the redirect for me? CPGirlAJ (talk) 23:40, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We don't delete redirects when somebody wants to make an article, and this redirect also has a page history. You can edit the redirect page as described at Help:Redirect#Creating and editing redirects, and replace the redirect code with an article. Here is a direct link to the redirect: [1]. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:45, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why can't you delete the redirect? CPGirlAJ (talk) 20:52, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As an administrator I can, but it would be against policy to do it without discussion at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion. I don't see a valid criteria for deleting it. It's certainly not a valid criteria that somebody wants to make an article with that name. As explained, they can already do that so there is no need for deletion. If you still haven't understood the procedure then here it is in even more detail:
Click here. Click the "Edit" tab. Replace the code #REDIRECT Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album)#The Complete Confection with the article you want. Click "Save page".
The redirect will still be in the page history so it will not be deleted in the Wikipedia sense, but it will no longer function as a redirect. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:16, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Teenage Dream

Teenage Dream : The Complete Confection does not get its own page. The album is a re-release and all re-releases are included on the parent album page (Teenage Dream). Please do not attempt to create the article that you have in your sandbox as the page will be deleted almost instantly. Thank you. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:42, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there already a page with that name. It is a redirect to Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album)#The Complete Confection -- that is, the section "The Complete Confection" of the article [[Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album) (that is what the "#" means -- in a link, it takes you to the section named after the "#", if it exists).

The page Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection just contains this text: "#REDIRECT Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album)#The Complete Confection" "#REDIRECT" is a magic word such that it takes the reader directly to the page named after the "#REDIRECT" and they never see the redirect page.

If you want to edit a redirect page, what you have to do is type "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection" in the search box. This will take you automatically to Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album), but if you scroll to the op of the page, near the top it will say "(Redirected from Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection)". Click on that link and it will take to the actual redirect page which you can view and edit. (You can also use "Tools" and then "What links here" whenever you're on the Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album) page to get to the redirect.

OK. So you have two options:

 1. You can go to the existing section "The Complete Confection" of the article Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album) and edit it, intertwining your own text (using copy-and-paste or whatever) and changing it any way that you think is an improvement.
 2. You can go to the actual redirect page Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection as I showed above, and replace the text with your own text copy-and-pasted in from User:CPGirlAJ/Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. That is how you change an existing redirect page to an actual article, using copy-and-paste.

I would recommend that you consider doing #1 instead of #2 for a couple of reasons:

 • The person above has said that the Complete Confection version of the album doesn't deserve its own page, and so you would have to argue with him and maybe other people about this. He has a point. I don't know if he's "right" or not.
 • The existing section "The Complete Confection" of the article Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album) also talks about the album, and it's probably not a good idea to have similar material in two separate places like that, so that would have to be dealt with somehow.

But it's your call. Herostratus (talk) 03:44, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have submitted an answer to your question, you can have a look!

Katy Perry edits

Hi. Please watch your edits on the Katy Perry article. And leave the sections as they are. "Image" is too weak and short of a section to have its own section; and why did you add everything in her career under "Early Life"?? Please be more careful. −Arrekea(Talk) 08:05, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We don't take supposed information from wikis, blogs, fansites, and the like, much less rumors; these are not reliable sources. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:37, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I guess that you can't take supposed information, but the music videos of Katy Perry were real. They should be added to the article. CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:01, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Same as anything else you want to put into Wikipedia: you must have verifiable citations from reliable sources with a neutral point of view. Not everything a celebrity does is important to go into an encyclopedia article about them; there are wikis and fansites for that kind of "fancruft". --Orange Mike | Talk 21:22, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think that the Katy Perry music videos are important enough to be there? I think they are. Even though they are unreleased, I still think they should be mentioned in her article. CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:31, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why? Unreleased videos are like basement tapes or unsold short stories: incredibly unlikely to be of importance until and unless they receive critical attention. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:40, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

CPGirlAJ, can you also please stop removing meaningful text from the article's hatnote? In case you are not familiar with the concept of disambiguation, the idea is that readers looking for Perry's first album and who simply type "Katy Hudson" in the search engine, will find themselves looking at the Katy Perry article instead (which is a sensible redirect). So a hatnote quickly pointing them to the desired article, i.e. Katy Hudson (album), is appropriate. The hatnote in the form that you seem to like ("Katy Hudson" redirects here. For the Australian fashion designer, see Katie Perry) is unhelpful and completely pointless in that respect. --Giuliopp (talk) 20:50, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I will try not to do that again. CPGirlAJ (talk) 20:56, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I also need help with figuring out how to delete or change the redirect Astro (rapper). Thanks! CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:09, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Leave the redirect as it is - it's good. Once your draft is ready for mainspace it will simply replace the redirect, so there's really no problem with that. I have a question about the references in the draft: Who is Alice Johnson that you have cited as the author of all three cites? Another problem - one of the cites is a Wikipedia page - apart from the fact that Alice Johnson cannot be credited as the author of a WP article, it is in any case not a valid cite because Wikipedia is never an acceptable source. You should go back to the WP article you cited and check what source(s) are cited in it for the facts you included in your draft. Then you check those sources and if they support the material in your draft you cite them - not the WP article. You're welcome to contact me on my talk page if you need more help. Actually, I am Alice Johnson. I thought that when you add a cite to a article, you have to put your name on the cite, but you actually have to put the name of the author of the article of the cite. CPGirlAJ (talk) 21:01, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Glad we got that cleared up. :) If there is no named author you just leave it out. Roger (talk) 21:05, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cher Lloyd, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Today Show (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Stargate (production team)

Hi. You've either edited Stargate (production team) or edited an article recently related to it. The article is currently up for a Good Article Review at Talk:Stargate (production team)/GA2. If you have time to assist in making changes so it can keep its GA status, that would be appreciated. :) --LauraHale (talk) 08:41, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits

I've noticed that you mark almost all of your edits as 'minor' and was wondering why. Even though Help:Minor edit is an essay and not a guideline, I've always agreed with it that 'Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if the edit concerns a single word'. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 03:34, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not actually sure what a minor edit is, but I think it is important. Can you please explain what a minor edit is? CPGirlAJ (talk) 01:34, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Take a look at Help:Minor edit for a good overview.
As it states there(Bolding mine.):
A check to the minor edit box signifies that only superficial differences exist between the current and previous versions. Examples include typographical corrections, formatting and presentational changes, and rearrangements of text without modification of its content. A minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. An edit of this kind is marked in its page's revision history with a lower case, bolded "m" character (m).
Because editors may choose to ignore minor edits when reviewing recent changes, the distinction between major and minor edits is significant. Logged-in users might even set their preferences to not display minor edits. If there is any chance that another editor might dispute a change, it is best not to mark the edit as minor.
In my own experience, for instance, I would not consider my reply-post here to be minor...there are major differences on this talkpage from before I posted these words compared to when I finish. So when I am done with posting here, I will not check off "This is a minor edit" before I hit "Save page;. You apparently are checking almost every edit you do as a minor edit, but taking a look at your contributions...
 • Is uploading a new image of Selena Homez a minor edit?
 • Is changing the infobox picture of any singer a 'minor edit'?
 • Is adding an alias to Carly Rae Jepsen a 'minor edit'?
 • Is adding extensive new sourced material to the Ryan Lochte article a 'minor edit'?
Sure, some of your edits could be considered minor, but, for instance, adding a new image to any article can be controversial, it alters the content and sometimes the images themselves could be considered controversial. Heh, long answer, hope it helps. Let me know if not, I'll try to explain myself a little better.Shearonink (talk) 03:37, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm surprised that you've never thought to click on the link in "This is a minor edit", which is immediately to the right of the check box that you have to check in order to mark your edit as minor. Since you have to go out of your way to check the box, it seems strange that you wouldn't bother confirming that your edit actually is minor before marking it. --AussieLegend () 16:03, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I noticed that since the info above was posted you have made over 30 edits that you marked as minor, but in fact only two of them are minor. It would be great if you would stop marking your edits as minor. Don't do it at all until you know exactly what a minor edit is. It's much better that one or two minor edits are not marked than that lots of "major" edits are marked as minor. Thanks! --bonadea contributions talk 09:09, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
