The Rising Suns joined the [[Shakey's V-League]] in 2012 with almost of their players from [[University of Perpetual Help System DALTA|UPHSD]]. The Cagayan Rising Suns is a PBA D-League team. It's team colors are maroon, black, white, and gold. Their current coach is Alvin Pua and their team manager is Turo Valenzona.
PBA D-League debut
They debuted in 2012 PBA Developmental League Foundation Cup. They finished with a disappointing 0-9 record with almost a win over the RnW Pacific Pipes Steelmasters and the Boracay Rum Waves on two of their close losses.

There were many added to their roster especially Letran center Raymond Almazan and former FEU stalwart Chris Exciminiano, who still led in rebounding and scoring, respectively. Then, They had a good 2-0 start but lost to Erase XFoliant Erasers, 78–91.
Shakey's V-League
The Rising Suns joined the Shakey's V-League in 2012 with almost of their players from UPHSD. They had a good 7-3 start on their debut on preliminary round then they won over Philippine Army in the semifinal round. [1] Unfortunately, they lost to Sandugo-SSC-R in the Finals.
