Location and anchor stores
The mall is located at the intersection of Puerto Rico Highway 2 and Highway 12. The mall has over 140 stores and is anchored by Sears and JCPenney. Junior anchors include Caribbean Cinemas and Old Navy. There are several restaurants in the mall property including Romano's Macaroni Grill; PF Chang’s and LongHorn Steakhouse are due to open in the spring of 2013.[7] There is also a food court with 18 establishments.[8] There was a freestanding Circuit City on the mall for a brief time but closed after the company went bankrupt.
Mall design
Plaza del Caribe notable for its sophisticated design, featuring artwork scattered through the mall, especially in its central atrium. The mall is accessible from both its first and second floor.
Surrounding mall area
A new 10-screen Caribbean Cinemas multiplex opened during the December 2010 holiday season on mall property, but physically detached from the main mall structure. It is located immediately south of the main mall complex in an area bounded on the south by Autopista Luis A. Ferre (PR-52).[9]
