The Journal of Literacy Research is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes papers on literacy in the field of education. The journal's Co-Editors are Patricia L. Anders, Ph.D. (University of Arizona) and David B. Yaden Jr., Ph.D. (University of Arizona). The journal's Associate Editors are Ana Christina da Silva Iddings, Ph.D. (University of Arizona), Laurie Katz, Ph.D. (Ohio State University), and Theresa Rogers, Ph.D. (University of British Columbia). Editorial Assistants for the journal are Kelly L. Allen (University of Arizona), Tori K. Flint (University of Arizona), Robert C. Heggestad, Jr. (Ohio State University), Harini Rajagopal (University of British Columbia), and Charlene Mendoza (University of Arizona). The Journal of Literacy Research has been in publication since 1969 and is currently published by SAGE Publications in association with Literacy Research Association.

Scope

The Journal of Literacy Research publishes research related to literacy, language and literacy and language education from preschool through to adulthood. The interdisciplinary journal contains research and scholarly papers including original research, critical reviews of research, and theoretical essays.

The Journal of Literacy Research is abstracted and indexed in, among other databases: SCOPUS, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2013 impact factor is 0.833, ranking it 91 out of 219 journals in the category ‘Education & Educational Research’.^[1] and 38 out of 53 journals in the category ‘Psychology, Educational’. ^[2]
