Und-raja-varam is a village and a mandal in West Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. [1]

History

Many villages derive their name from a mythical war between Tarka-sena (Often referred to as Tarak-asura). Asuras are demons, and Tarakasena was made a demon after his defeat in a great war between him and Lord Kumaraswamy (Subramaniam swamy), the son of Lord Shiva and Parvathi. The Zamindaries of "Mullapudi Clan" born from this village.

The place where Uraga Raju resided is known as Undrajavaram. In older times the present-day Palangi was known as Poolangi (Stall of Flowers) and Chivatam was known as Srivatam (the Financial Centre). The paddy repository of the kingdom is now Vadluru.

Undrajavaram is the First richest village in West Godavari and also one of the richest villages in india and is famous for prosperity.It is famous for its rich and fertile agricultural land. Bhogavalli Prasad, Burugupalli Sri Rama Chandra Prasad hail from village. Eminent businessmen include Burugupalli Thimma Raju, Burugupalli Subba Rao, Mallina Ramachandra rao , Bhogavalli Srimannarayana (Gowtham solvent Oils Ltd.).Famous agriculturist Karuturi Rajarao. A major cloth trading store known as "Pichaai Gari Battala Shop" is famous for blankets and for other "Pattu" Sarees in the local region.
