I'm a guy from Ottawa, ON who is a rather big video game, comic and animation fan (no Janapese anime though).

I myself am an animator and comic book artist and am currently working on a short stop motion film and two comic books.

I am a fan surrealism and expressionism and, as such, am partial to such names as Sam Keith (of The Maxx, Four Women), John Krisfalusci (of Ren & Stimpy, The Ripping Friends), Jhonen Vasquez (Invader Zim, I Feel Sick), Salvidor Dali (works are too numerous and well known to recount), Edvard Munch (pronounced 'monk', creator of The Scream), Matthew Barney (The Cremaster Cycle), David Cronenberg (eXistenZ, Videodrome), Don Herxfeld (Rejected, The Animation Show (film)), Mike Judge (King of the Hill, Office Space (cartoon), David Lynch (Eraserhead, Lost Highway), among others.

In respect to video games, I have written many papers on the subject, mainly it's relation to popular culture. Despite my apparent affinty towards Nintendo creations, I tend to favour franshises owned by Konami as I feel such titles as Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid are two of the most, to use a term used by the United States' Library of Congress, 'culturally significant' games to date. I am currently investigating the Castlevania series, but early reports are grim. I am really interested in the video game anomolies, such as the failed Virtual Boy and Game.com consoles\handhelds, the currently successful Nintendo DS, and the soon to be released Nintendo Wii.

I recently graduated from university with a general Arts degree and have no idea what to do with it. If anyone has any use for an artistic theorist who draws, writes, and\or plays bass, let me know.
