Blatz was a punk band formed in 1989 in Berkeley California. Blatz came out of the 924 Gilman St. Project scene during the late 80s, and early 90s with bands like Operaton Ivy and Green Day.
Known for their in your face lyrics, filled with sarcasm, irony, humor, masturbation and drugs. They never went on tour, and mostly played shows at 924 Gilman. They took the name Blatz after one of the cheapest Beer available in the US. Blatz came to life when Joey & Eggplant played a show as Blatz with John Santos, a high school drinking buddy of Eggplant.
