    Santa Fe Springs burial

I'm trying to find someone buried in santa fe spring all i have is santa fe springs can you help me find this person --2601:9:7380:484:9824:54AC:892:6CAB (talk) 04:05, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, the Wikipedia Help Desk is for general questions about how to use Wikipedia, not how to locate the deceased. As a courtesy, I'd recommend you use Google Maps, locate cemeteries in Santa Fe Springs, and call each one. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:28, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    spelling

How can I search if I don't know the correct spelling for the word? Yteneres (talk) 05:17, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have an Android phone? Try Google's voice search. Or sometimes your mobile device's autocorrect will help, or you could try to type the word in a Word document and run a spelling check for alternatives, or you could try to spell the word phonetically at Dictionary.com, or you could have tried to describe the word here, or... Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:32, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also, just typing your best guess into Google usually works; because of the huge volume of searches it gets, it is in some aspects a better spellchecker than Word. ~HueSatLum 21:30, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you know other words that would likely be in the article (particularly combinations of words that would not be in other articles) you can put them in the search box and press "search" rather than "go". It will bring up a list of article that have those word combinations and your target article may be in there. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 21:33, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    MediaWiki API: Orphan pages

I also asked the question on MW site, but seeing the page was untouched for 3 years, I guess I would also ask here.

Is there a way to get a list of Orphan pages using the MediaWiki API better than simply list=allpages and then checking list=backlinks on each on them? - 129.255.226.253 (talk) 14:04, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

After creating a Navbox for Old Crow Medicine Show, I've tried putting it at one of their album pages: O.C.M.S.. I don't know what I might be doing wrong, or why it's not appearing there. Any and all assistance appreciated on this. Thanks . .--Artaxerxes (talk) 14:22, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You just added a navbox to the band's article by using {{Navbox musical artist}}. If you want to make a navbox template that you can transclude in other articles, you have to do it in template space, by creating a page at Template:Old Crow Medicine Show. You can just paste the navbox code you've already added to the band's article to create that page, then add {{Old Crow Medicine Show}} to any article in which you want the navbox to appear (including the band's article). Question about my father

How do I change the title of an article about my Father? He is listed as John S. Hunt lll. He should be John S. Hunt ll. I would like the title to be his full name- JOHN SMOKER HUNT ll Thank you!-------- — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucysmoker (talkcontribs) 15:53, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We use what we refer to as the subject's common name for article titling. It is likely that the article you refer to is named as such because that is how the subject is known ("S" rather than "Smoker"). As far as adjusting the generation identifier, if you could provide us with a suitable, reliable source that proves he is the second rather than the third, we can change it.  drewmunn  talk  16:46, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Do we have a reliable source to say he is the third? I'm just asking because i couldn't find the article, although admittedly i put little effort into the search as i was busy. Thanks Jenova20 (email) 17:00, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The article is at John S. Hunt, III (with a comma). - David Biddulph (talk) 17:12, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Somebody (an IP address) has changed III to II in the text of the article today. After some effort, I have found a reference which lists "John Hunt II" (the Boissier Press-Tribune reference) and on the strength of that, I have moved the article. I observe that many of the references given in the article are inadmissible, being searches of unpublished data such as death records. Several of the references are to newspaper articles from the 60's, and these may be solid enough to establish notability. I also observe that the article is an orphan (even Minden, Louisiana doesn't link to it, and nor does Huey Long). --ColinFine (talk) 17:59, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed the handful of pages that still linked to "John S. Hunt, III" rather than "John S. Hunt, II" to now link to the II rather than the redirect to avoid confusion in the future.Mandra Oleka (talk) 10:15, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    User pages and Google

Dear editors: I have been doing some Google searches while reviewing articles in Wikiproject Articles for creation, checking to make sure that submissions are not copied from web pages. Sometimes I find that a mirror site has picked up the submission from Wikipedia talk: or User: However, lately, it seems that Google has been picking up some user pages directly; for example, a search for this text: "Based on client feedback, he concentrated" resulted in this result: [1] . I thought that user pages were all marked as "Noindex". Am I mistaken about that? By the way, Afc has been receiving a new submission about every five minutes all week, so if there are more requests than usual for help from new editors at this forum, that may be why. —Anne Delong (talk) 18:26, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I had to mark my talk page with noindex. I had a little bit of Internet access the other day and I searched for Miss Bono and my pages appeared so I added the noindex. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 18:43, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
{{userspace draft}} adds noindex to a page, and I think the AfC templates do so also, and so does {{user page}}, but I don't think user or user talk are automatically noindexed. DES (talk) 20:14, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Do you know if it matters where on the page the NOINDEX is located? Also, I looked at several userspace drafts, but didn't see a NOINDEX. Is it hidden somehow? —Anne Delong (talk) 21:25, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, it can be anywhere on the page, and it is on line 7 of the {{userspace draft}} template. ~HueSatLum 21:35, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
{{user page}} does not add noindex by default. It only does this if you use |noindex=yes. Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 02:22, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay; the NOINDEX is hidden because it is inside the Userspace draft template. Sticking one of those on a user page should lead to Google removing it from the index the next time the page is "crawled". Correct? —Anne Delong (talk) 04:06, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, that makes sense. We have an article on Alexander Khateeb, the racing driver - clearly the same person. It does seem to be rather out of date. AndyTheGrump (talk) 18:50, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Articles created in main-space despite being rejected at Articles for creation

Is there any sanction/control when an article which has been rejected at Articles for creation, is pasted directly into main-space, without any attempt to address the reason(s) for rejection at Articles for creation?
If not, why not? as an ability to simply side-step a rejection at Articles for creation, makes a complete mockery of the entire process. Arjayay (talk) 19:50, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The only "sanction" is that such articles are immediately subject to new page patrol, and may well be promptly deleted. Contributors are warned of this. AFC is designed to help contributors write good articles, or at least ones good enough not to be deleted at an AfD. No one needs to use it, anyone can register an account and add an article directly. AFC Is not a "guardian of the gates". The goal of AfC is to make it easier for contributors to learn how to write acceptable articles. If a contributor chooses to reject that help, so be it. An article rejected at AfC will quite probably be deleted if not improved in a way which would have caused AfC to accept it, but you never know. If others made edits while a draft was on AfC, then a copy&paste move may at least technically violate attribution, and a history merge should be done, just as with any C&P move. If there was only one contributor of content (not counting reviewer's notes), and that person pastes to mainspace, that issue is unimportant in my view. DES (talk) 20:10, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This happens a lot. My response is to decline their AfC submission as created if it's been submitted, and treat the newly created page under NPP standards - and I'm a pretty harsh new page patroller, honestly. I've also noticed it happens more with lackluster submissions than anything else. Would it be inappropriate to speedy their draft (submitted or otherwise) as 'user self-created page outside of AfC process'? --TKK! bark with me if you're my dog! 20:47, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
A copy-paste fragment left in Afc, if submitted, should be decline as "Exists in mainspace". Then we wait a while. If the mainspace article is deleted by the NPP, the editor may very well come back and start working on it again. If, after a while, it appears that the mainspace article is surviving, then the history of the draft is examined. If there's a lot of history, with either multiple authors or over a substantial length of time, then a history merge should be performed to reconnect the two parts. If the draft is just a few diffs by one author, then it can be deleted as a G6 (Housekeeping), since all of the useful material is in the mainspace article and the history is too trivial to bother merging. —Anne Delong (talk) 21:12, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How can I edit my user name? The software automatically capitalized the first letter "J" and I don't want that.

The first letter of every user name will always be capitalized. But you can change your signature. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 22:09, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c) In the most technical sense (which I'm not sure is the heart of your question), you cannot. The software will not allow a title, including an account name, to be created with a lowercase first letter. However, there are two things you can do. First, you can make your user and usertalk pages appear as lowercase, by placing on them the template {{lowercase title}}. Second, in non-article discussion pages such as this one, you should sign your posts by typing four tiles (~~~~) after your post (you forgot to here), which will automatically turn into your signature, with a time stamp, when you save. You can place the tildes without typing them out by clicking on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window. You can customize your signature so that it will display as lowercase. To do this: go to Special:Preferences; scroll down to "Signature"; make sure the box next to "Treat the above as wiki markup" is ticked, and paste into the field above it:

    [[User:Jesselashcraft|jesselashcraft]] ([[User talk:Jesselashcraft|talk]]).

Then save your changes. If you do that, your signature will display as jesselashcraft (talk). Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:21, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And you can force your user page to display with a lower case first letter by adding the {{lower case title}} template to it (also works on user talk pages).--ukexpat (talk) 14:19, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Format for initials

If a biography identifies a subject using two (or more) initials, should there be a space between the period and the next initial? Minor Location articles in other countries

On New Pages Feed, I came a cross a series of articles concerning small villages in Malaysia. Keeping in mind both GNG and WP:OTHERSTUFF I was minded to tag for AfD, but given that we do have an article for every town, village, and CDP in the U.S, that feels discriminatory. Is there a guideline about local placename inclusion? Or, failing that, a central location where I can bring these articles as a group instead of starting discussions on each separately? What you should do is read our Conflict of Interest and Notability guidance pages. The page as it stands will almost certainly be deleted almost immediately if it goes live. You need to find substantial third-party independent references to your company to establish that it's notable enough to have a page on Wikipedia, and you are strongly advised as an employee of the firm not to produce the article yourself, as it will be difficult for you to maintain the neutral tone we need. Please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a medium for advertising or promotion. Rojomoke (talk) 12:07, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Popularity section of Blog article, following up/expanding

Hi, quick question. I was doing a bit of editing in the "Popularity" section of the Blog article. At the end of the section there was a small part about a forecast by Gartner - the note above it said the section was out of date, but interesting and would anyone follow up. I'd love to do that, do I need to post that somewhere additionally? Or can I just start as soon as I'm here again? Thanks for your help!CindyMalRS3 (talk) 09:24, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need anyone's permission to edit an article, or to find more up to date information that can be cited to reliable sources and supplement or replace outdated information. Nor do you need to announce it anywhere. If you are unsure about what should be done, or want to let other editors know what you are doing (particularly if your edit must be in multiple sections), you can post on the article's talk page, in this case on Talk:Blog. Dooley Wilson, actor

Dooley Wilson didn't play Little Joe Jackson in Cabin in the Sky it was Eddie "Rochester"Andersons role. After all my research Dooley Wilson had nothing to do with Cabin in the Sky although there were many great actors in that movie...Ethel Water as Petunia, Eddie Rochester Anderson as Little Joe Jackson, Lena Horne as Georgia Brown, Louis Armstrong, Oscar Polk, Willie Best, Bill Bailey, Butterfly McQueen and Duke Ellington. It is a funny and warm the most endearing film a wonderful childhood memory and as an adult I watch it whenever it comes on tv. The article Dooley Wilson or Cabin in the Sky (and other articles) may be edited by anyone to remove or correct inaccurate information. It is best if you can cite a source, although for negative info that is often hard -- no source will say "Wilson was not in the cast of...". I would advise posting on the talk page of the article (Talk:Cabin in the Sky) explaining your changes and citing a source for the correct cast list. Cabin in the Sky currently says that Wilson played the role on Broadway, and Anderson took over the role for the film. Do you have a source that says differently? Thank you. Colleen Wilson Administrative Assistant Horsham Township 1025 Horsham Road Horsham, PA 19044 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.95.179.230 (talk) 13:59, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You don't "have to" update any of Wikipedia's articles "for" anybody, although appropriate, high-quality sourced updates are always appreciated. As a town employee you have a potential conflict of interest and should familiarise yourself with the policy and edit with caution if at all; however, your recent updates don't appear to be inappropriate. As for your request, the two pages could possibly be merged to preserve their edit histories if they are on the same subject, but a quick glance tells me that one is about a "township" and the other about a "census-designated place" (ie a town) that forms the greater part of that township. They have different geographical areas and different population totals. I am not familiar with the terminology of US local and regional administrative geography, or the criteria for deciding which units qualify for articles and which don't. Maybe someone more familiar with the subject can take a look at the articles? - Karenjc (talk) 14:38, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It looks as if the demographic information in the "Horsham, Pennsylvania" article is rather too detailed and is in any case out of date (based on the 2000 census), thus much of it could be removed. Having done that, there would not be enough material left to justify it as a separate article: so it could be merged with the other article. ----Ehrenkater (talk) 15:26, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been adding your name to the list at Kansas gubernatorial election, 2014, but without any reference to prove that you you have declared. Until you can provide such a reference, it is likely that it will continue to be removed. Meanwhile, I have formatted it correctly. Maproom (talk) 14:49, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request for an editor to review the errors on the Whole Foods Market article

The article for Whole_Foods_Market has several flags/errors to be reviewed by editors. But no editors are seemingly reviewing or addressing those errors. :-(

Is there a place to request an editor to review the article to take appropiate action on the flags/errors? I'd appreciate it!

Thanks, Pat Grady Digital Marketing Analyst Whole Foods Market — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iampatgrady (talkcontribs) 19:30, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It looks to me like a comprehensive rewrite is needed to fix the issues. For rexample, how the founders showered is of absolutely no relevance to the company and needs to be removed. Using the term "Memorial Day" instead of an actual date is also innapropriate - readers outside the US won't know the date of Memorial Day and the fact that the flood happened on that particular day has nothing to do with the price of organic tofu. The tone of the writing is also wrong for an encyclopedia. Basically it's a fairly poor puff-piece and needs radical surgery if it is to become an acceptable encyclopedic article. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 11:20, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Iampatgrady: Pat, the answer to your question is no - there is no place to post something like "Here's an article that needs fixing". That's because there are literally scores of thousands of articles on Wikipedia that are marked with flags/error messages. Since virtually everyone here is a volunteers, whether an article gets fixed or not usually comes down to whether anyone is personally interested.
Having said that, there is a way to make it more likely that specific errors are fixed. You can post suggestions - the more specific, the better, including suggested wording - at Talk:Whole Foods Market. But please, please don't do that unless you also include reliable sources that support your suggested changes. (If the source is online, all you need to do is mention the url.)
As for the general problem noted at the top of the page - that "This article appears to be written like an advertisement" (I removed the other warning, since it's outdated, I believe), unfortunately dealing with that is, as Roger said, going to require a rewrite by an experienced Wikipedia editor. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 03:13, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Three clicks to get to a footnote

Is this kind of footnote okay? This is a featured article candidate, and I'd like to know if there's a better way to set up this footnote. The way it is now, you click on "a" in the article text. That takes you to a note with a footnote at the end, so you click that. This leads to merely the author name, so you click that to finally get to the source. Three clicks to get to a source! Okay, or not?Anythingyouwant (talk) 20:59, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Anythingyouwant: It's working exactly as it should. It's fine. I think you're looking at it in sort of a skewed way. It's not three clicks to get to it, unless you concatenate the note with the citation to the note. It's one click to get from the note markup ([a]) to the text of the note. That's direct. The citation appended to the note ([1]), is not verifying the text in the body of the article but the text of the note, so you wouldn't count body → note → bibliography, because the citation is not verifying any text in the body, i.e. they're two separate events: a note, and a citation to a note. It's thus two clicks to get from the citation on the note to the full citation in the bibliography, which is the same as every other citation in the article, and which is the same as every citation in any article using shortened footnotes. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 03:22, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Short citations are useful when citing to multiple pages in the same reference. There's more reasons for using them at Help:Shortened footnotes. To me, they convey that newspaper articles in that article have the same weight as books. -- Jreferee (talk) 15:05, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How long does it take to register an account? What if I receive no password?

I requested an account on the English Wikipedia from 86.186.148.151 on 14 Oct, received an instantaneous acknowledgement giving me an ACC # number and a web address at which to complete the request, which I followed up immediately. Where do I ask a BLP notability question?

I'm considering writing an article on a living person, but I'm not 100% sure he's notable. I'd like to link to some sources and have other editors help me decide. Should I do that here or somewhere else? Thanks, HtownCat (talk) 22:11, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I thought I recalled a notability notice board. I can't find one. I suggest you assemble some sources, or perhaps even a draft article, on a page in your userspacve, and ask one or more experienced editors to look them over. Or you could use the Articles for Creation process, where you create a draft and a reviewer assesses it, with notability being a major aspect of the assessment. DES (talk) 23:20, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@HtownCat: This is probably the best place to ask, once you've assembled a list of sources (at a user page, like User:HtownCat/ArticleName. I do suggest that these be more than URLs (article title, and publisher, are extremely useful), and I also suggest your writing a first sentence for this possible article - that's where a claim of importance is normally made. I don't think it's worth writing a draft article until/unless you get positive feedback on your list of sources. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 02:38, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Spelling Error

    Hello.

I don't need any help but you do have a spelling error when editing a page.

Whoever wrote the information at the top has written "Encyclopedic content must be verifiable." but the word is spelt "Encyclopaedic". Just thought you might want to know.

Only in British English - and that seems to be gradually adopting the American spelling (possibly because many people don't know how to type a ligature in place of the "ae"). Wikipedia uses both British and American English, so "encyclopedic" is perfectly acceptable here. Yunshui  23:11, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Search and Replace

I am attempting to edit a page using the search and replace function. When I click on the icon to use it, I am redirected to the top of the page and nothing else happens. Could you explain how to use the search and replace function? ȸ (talk) 04:32, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't generally use the buttons above the edit window, so I just looked through them and didn't see a search and replace button in the WP buttons. Is this a feature of your browser perhaps? If so, I can think of two possible scenarios. A) You need to put the cursor in the edit window first and then do the search and replace and B) You're working with a browser that doesn't search the edit window but instead only searches the non-editable text of the web page. On the occasions when I need to do a search and replace, I generally copy the entire text of an article and paste it into a word processor that just uses straight ASCII text in order to not mess with the formatting of the article. I do the search and replace there and then copy/paste it back into the edit window here at WP. Dismas|(talk) 05:45, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AFAIK if you can't remember your password, and cannot gain access to the email your provided that the recovery is being sent to, there is no way to retrieve the account (barring usurpation which is only allowed for accounts with little to no substantive edits or log activity). I can only suggest that you create another account with a similar name, mention on the userpage that you used to edit under the old account name and link to it, and edit your old account's userpage to mention your new account name. subject "Epic" not properly represented

The subject "Epic" comes up as a movie, or as poetry. I think that the modern definition of "Epic" as a "larger than life event or production" should be foremost in search results. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.201.25.50 (talk) 17:58, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dictionary definitions belong at wiktionary, see epic. The fact that a word shows up in the title of an article is often more an artifact of our naming process than meant as a comprehensive definition. Historically, the term epic does have to do with a certain type of poetry. The definition you propose is modern development that doesn't cover the historical scope of the term. μηδείς (talk) 18:10, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look at the Your first article guide and also the rules for articles about living people. -- Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 18:31, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Lil Snupe is not a living person. The question is whether enough material exists to write an article about him, since he was killed at the age of 16 before ever releasing anything more than a demo. Looie496 (talk) 18:33, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Misdirected Message

    Hi,

I received a final warning with regard to an edit of a page this morning (MIss You by Rolling Stones). This has come to me by mistake as I have never edited Wikipedia.

    Cheers,

    Peter — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.168.192.26 (talk) 19:35, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

someone from that IP has. see [5]. however, that was from many years ago and is essentially irrelevant (unless you start editing and exhibiting the same characteristics that happened before).
If you dont wish to get messages intended for someone else, you can create an account of your own - its free and more anonymous than editing by an IP which anyone can look up for information. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:42, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    October 20

I have info about claims made in a Wikipedia article; unfortunately it's OR. What can I do?

While researching the origin of Johnny Marzetti for the eponymous article (of which I am a frequent editor), I contacted the T. Marzetti company for information. I received a response (on August 19th of this year) essentially disavowing any knowledge of the dish. I quote that response in its entirety (having redacted the salutation and closing) here:

Thank you for contacting T. Marzetti Company with your inquiry about the History of the Johnny Marzetti Casserole.

Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm the origin of the Johnny Marzetti Casserole. The restaurant had three locations. The first restaurant opened in 1896 on the Ohio State Campus. The second restaurant was located at 59 E. Gay Street from 1919 – 1942. Lastly, the third restaurant was located at 16 E. Broad Street. The Broad Street location closed when Teresa died in 1972 at the age of 92.

I'd like to incorporate this information into the article, particularly as other sources cited in the article make claims that are inconsistent with this. Unfortunately, this emailed response to my query is, essentially, original research.

Any ideas on how I could proceed?

@Mark Shaw: - The "other sources" in the article which yo mention are exclusively pages at ohiohistorycentral.org, a website published by the Ohio Historical Society. You might send on the information you've obtained to the Society, and ask them to consider changing their website pages accordingly. However, I will note that "unable to confirm" is not the same as mean "untrue"; in this case, it seems to me to mean "There isn't anyone here who knows anything." So perhaps a more fruitful approach would be to ask the Society what sources they used to write their pages, rather than to suggest that they are inaccurate.
Also, may I suggest you look at WP:REFB - the format of the footnotes in that article is terrible. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 03:56, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Mark Shaw:, your email parallels this March 2013 news article. This article notes that Marzetti's restaurant was located on the ground floor of the Hayden Building on E. Broad from 1940 until it closed in 1972, meaning the E. Broad location of Marzetti's restaurant did not begin in 1896, contrary to this article, which states that Teresa Marzetti opened a restaurant on Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio, in 1896. Several sources point to the 1896 Marzetti's restaurant not being opened on Broad Street but instead being opened on the Ohio State Campus. -- Jreferee (talk) 11:47, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Searching in Wikipedia

can i search about any information in wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.100.165.91 (talk) 12:07, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. The search box is at the top right of this, and every, page. Dismas|(talk) 12:45, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's really only useful in searching for titles, not in searching contents. For that, Google often works better. Looie496 (talk) 16:05, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The Search function searches on more than just titles. If it finds an exact match for a title, it takes you right there; otherwise, it searches on content as well. To force a search on content, precede your search with a tilde (~). For more details, see Help:Searching. --Larry (talk) 17:40, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I recently wrote an article called "anisa moghaddam" (Songwriter who wrote "Piano" for "Ariana grande" on her hit album 'Yours truly').

When I log in to my wiki account I can see the article but when I type her name into google I don't see the wiki article.

How do I know if the article is live to the public? Does it need to be checked by wiki first before being made available to the public?

I would also like to create a link from the article "yours truly" to the article "anisa moghaddam" , but when I try to edit the "yours truly' article and type in 'anisa moghaddam", wiki tells me the 'anisa moghaddam' article does not exist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anisa moghaddam (talkcontribs) 18:15, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
