Coffin Baby (aka Coffin Baby - The Toolbox Killer Is Back) is a 2013 American horror film written and directed by Dean C. Jones, Emmy-winning FX makeup artist and co-creator of 2004's iconic killer from Toolbox Murders. Film stars Brian Krause, Clifton Powell, Ethan Phillips and introduces Chauntal Lewis. It also features a notable cameo by the always fun-to-watch Bruce Dern. While it is widely assumed that ""Coffin Baby"" is a sequel to "Toolbox Murders" because of Dean Jones' association with the first film, this assumption is incorrect, despite a German release of Coffin Baby using the association in it's marketing of the home video title in that country. Also the fact that actor Christopher Doyle appears as the titular psychotic serial slayer Coffin Baby in a somewhat similar role to the killer he played in the 2004 remake of Toolbox Murders. But it is a different story entirely, with a different setting, characters, motivation for the killer, etc.

Coffin Baby (aka Coffin Baby - The Toolbox Killer Is Back) is a 2013 American horror film written and directed by Dean C. Jones and starring Bruce Dern, Brian Krause, Clifton Powell, and Ethan Phillips, that serves as a sequel to 2004's Toolbox Murders. It concerns the eponymous toolbox killer, Coffin Baby, who resumes his gruesome killing spree from the first film. Actor Christopher Doyle reprises his 2004 role as Coffin Baby.[1][2][3][4][5]

Background

In October 2012, and based upon the 2004 film Toolbox Killer, filmmaker & brothers Dean Jones and Starr Jones shot the sequel film Coffin Baby in Alamance County, North Carolina on locations in their hometown city of Graham. Area police, fire fighters, rescue personnel, and residents were part of the many filmed crime scenes.[6]

Plot

In Hollywood, Samantha Forester (Chauntal Lewis) is kidnapped by "Coffin Baby" (Christopher Doyle), branded, locked in a cage, and forced to witness dozens upon dozens of other Los Angeles citizens being murdered in various brutal ways. When she is reported as missing, police investigators lead by Detective Chad Cole (Brian Krause) interrogate her boyfriend and learn that Samantha's own child was murdered. After 10 days in captivity, Coffin Baby falls in love with Samantha and gives her an orchid. Becoming crazed by her confinement, she herself eats cooked human flesh from another blonde victim.

Upon rescue by police, investigators find the body count is climbed well into the hundreds. Samantha is herself now suspected in the murder of her own 11 month old child.
