Comments on Korn since leaving
Since January 2012, Silveria has become vocal about his time in Korn, and has often spoken negatively about the band, its members and in some cases its outspoken fans, during conversations on Korn fansite Kornspace. Although David maintains no relationship with his former bandmates, he has stated that he has no hard feelings towards guitarist James Shaffer. However, Silveria has spoken less fondly of singer Jonathan Davis and bassist Reginald Arvizu. David states that his relationship with Korn was flawed due to them not letting him back in the band after his long absence. <!-- Kornspace no longer exists.--> David mentioned during his conversation with fans on Kornspace.com that he had contacted previous band member Brian Welch about a Korn reunion tour but Head refused the offer. David also confirmed his comments that he left Korn due to "negative attitudes" and that he "couldn't take it anymore". He mentioned at that point that he has not spoken with Jonathan Davis since November 2006.

On January 7, 2013, David Silveria updated his status on his official Facebook page stating, 'Korn fans need to flood the Korn site telling them Korn isn't Korn without the original five!!!' He then went on to say in a later status that fans should 'Flood Jd's and Munkys twitter to bring the original 5 back together.(Which never happen)' Later commenting that he had 'made contact,' fans began predicting that a Korn reunion of all five members might be a possibility. On January 7, 2013, guitarist Brian Head Welch stated in an Interview that "David has really said some crazy things online about personal things and he’s not in a place where people would really want him around. On May 13, 2013 Pittsburgh Music Magazine posted a review of Korn's first show with returning guitarist Brian Head Welch. The magazine had been spending time back stage with members of Korn who appear to have stated to the magazine the unlikelihood of Silveria ever returning to Korn.

David Silveria has stated that he only wants to restore Korn's original sound, and would like to sit down and have a talk with the band about their early days, the future of the band and Korn's original sound. However, Jonathan Davis stated on Twitter that "I will never never play with him again," (which appears to be a reference to the title of Korn's first single 'Never Never' from its latest album The Paradigm Shift). David also stated his interest in rejoining the band on his Facebook page, explaining that he "would restore the groove" he believes has been lost since drummer Ray Luzier joined the band back in 2007.

On December 20 2013, Silveria made comments towards Korn bassist Fieldy, calling him a "cowardly little bitch" and that he could "crush [Fieldy] like a bug".
'Sorry, guys. Fieldy has acted like a tough guy for so long it’s nice to tell the truth,' The Pulse Of Radio reports as being posted on his official Facebook page. David Randall Silveria (born September 21, 1972 in San Leandro, California) is a drummer, best known as the drummer for the band Korn from 1993 until leaving the band in 2006. In January 2012, Silveria announced that he is the drummer of INFINIKA, ending his 6 year hiatus from the music industry.

Biography

1993 to 2006: Korn

Silveria was one of the original five members of the nü metal band Korn. Bandmates Brian Welch, James Shaffer and Reginald Arvizu took up pseudonyms, while Silveria and singer Jonathan Davis remained using their real names. Korn proceeded to popularize the alternative metal sub-genre in the music industry, selling over 40 million albums worldwide. Silveria sat out a part of the "Sick and Twisted 2000" and "Summer Sanitarium" tours due to injury, with Mike Bordin from Faith No More filling in on drums. Silveria then returned for the album recording of Untouchables, Silveria's own explanation for the issue was that he "hits too fucking hard".

On December 13, 2006, after the tour in support of See You on the Other Side, it was announced that Silveria would be going on hiatus, and Jonathan Davis later said Silveria would "probably not" appear on their next album.[1] Silveria has since started running his restaurants. In 2009, after working with several different temporary drummers, Ray Luzier was announced as the official replacement.

2006 to 2012: Leaving Korn and hiatus

In June 2008, rumors began to surface that Silveria had joined a newly formed band called Satellite Syndrome, but it was eventually confirmed that the rumors were false and Silveria was not involved with the band. Silveria did not give any interviews during his hiatus. He dedicated his time and efforts to his children and running his steak house and sushi restaurant. In December 2009, David changed his steak house into a Rock and Sports themed bar in downtown Huntington Beach California called "Silvera's RockBar", and no longer owns 50% of shares of his sushi restaurant, agreeing to terms to sell his half of ownership over to his ex-wife after a year long court battle. In an interview with HeadBanger's Blog, Jonathan Davis said that he had not spoken to David since his hiatus.

For the first time in three years David appeared promoting Lil' Kim in Dancing with the Stars, he also introduced himself as "David Silveria from Korn". In May 2010, Silveria appeared as a model for Remetee clothing.[2][dead link] Lead singer of Korn, Jonathan Davis, stated on 7/25/2011 during a korn.com chat with fans that the reason for Silveria's departure was the same as Brian "Head" Welch's. [citation needed] Jonathan stated "The reason is drugs. They fuck everything up..."[This quote needs a citation][citation needed] During a chat conversation with fans on a Korn fansite, Kornspace, on February 1, 2012, David stated that "Those guys played wasted almost every night and I never even had a single drink before I hit the stage."[citation needed] Despite being recorded drinking Coors Light before going on stage, as seen in Korn's DVD release Who Then Now?.[citation needed]

David states that his relationship with Korn was flawed due to them not letting him back in the band after his long absence.[better source needed] David mentioned during his conversation with fans on Kornspace.com that he had contacted previous band member Brian Welch about a Korn reunion tour but Head refused the offer. David also confirmed his comments that he left Korn due to "negative attitudes" and that he "couldn't take it anymore". He mentioned at that point that he has not spoken with Jonathan Davis since November 2006.

After it was announced that original guitarist Brian Head Welch would be returning to Korn for two shows at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in 2013,[3] David Silveria commented on his Facebook page that he would be open to a reunion if all five original members were involved.

That happened before I talked with them but I guess the things he said were really crazy. Those guys were in a band together for so long so I don’t know, but for now it’s just not going to happen."[4] David later deleted his personal Facebook page after a backlash from Korn fans questioning his intentions with regards to rejoining the band.[5]

On May 13, 2013 Pittsburgh Music Magazine posted a review of Korn's first show with returning guitarist Brian Head Welch. The magazine had been spending time back stage with members of Korn who appear to have stated to the magazine the unlikelihood of Silveria ever returning to Korn.[6]

On August 11, 2013 David Silveria took to his personal Facebook account to state that "[t]here are a lot of things I did for the band that they don't like to admit I did."[7] David then went on to say in a later post that he blamed the band's direction after Follow the Leader for his lack of interest from that point. My posts have been about my work with Korn during our early years specifically during our first three records." David Silveria has stated that he only wants to restore Korn's original sound, and would like to sit down and have a talk with the band about their early days, the future of the band and Korn's original sound. David also stated his interest in rejoining the band on his Facebook page, explaining that he "would restore the groove" he believes has been lost since drummer Ray Luzier joined the band back in 2007.[9]

2012-present: INFINIKA

On January 24 it was announced on YouTube that Silveria is playing drums for the experimental rock band INFINIKA alongside Rizz Story, Miki Black, and Cory Tarallo.[11] On January 27 it was confirmed with an article on Blabbermouth[12] On January 30, fan site Kornspace.com confirmed that David Silveria had in fact joined the site, with a picture of Silveria holding a Kornspace banner. This confirmed previous comments that had supposedly been made by the drummer on the site earlier that week. David stated that he would be touring with INFINIKA by summer 2012.

On April 2, David Silveria's new band Infinika released their new single and music video via YouTube called Beautiful World. The video features footage of David recorded for the Infinika - Promotional Clip,[13] but did not include any new footage of the drummer.[14] The video has received mixed feedback since its release.[15]
