Revision as of 23:57, 3 February 2014
The 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship season is the third season of the FIA World Endurance Championship auto racing series, co-organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series is open to Le Mans Prototypes and grand tourer-style racing cars meeting four ACO categories. World Championships will be awarded to drivers and to LMP1 category manufacturers, while several World Cups and Trophies will be awarded for the series' other categories. The eight race season will begin in April at the Silverstone Circuit and end in November at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace.
Calendar
A provisional calendar was published by the FIA World Endurance Championship on September 20, 2013.[1] All eight races remain from the 2013 schedule, although with some dates changed. On 18 October, the calendar was revised to avoid some collisions with Formula One races.[2] At the World Motor Sport Council meeting on December 4, 2013 the FIA confirmed the 2014 schedule.[3] The round at Fuji Speedway will take place on October 12, avoiding a clash with the United SportsCar Petit Le Mans, and the provisional round at Interlagos was confirmed. The schedule was revised again on January 31, 2014, moving the Sao Paulo round to November 30 to avoid clashes with Formula One.[4]
