B. Pocker Sahib Bahadur (1890-1969) was an Indian lawyer and politician.
Graduated from Madras Law callege in 1915. Started his profession as advocate in Madrass High court since 1917. Mr. Poker Sahib was the fifth University graduate and Only Second Advocate amoung Malabar Muslims.
He Entered to National politics in 1919 with a memorandum to Lord Montagu for special muslim constituencies. He stood in front of KHilafat movement when it started. Lead the relief activities for Mappilas who were affected with Malabar Riot in 1921. Relief works made him notable person in Malabar. He started "Mapila Amelioration Commitee" which collected more than two lacks of ropees then and distributed amoungh mappilas despite threats an prohibitions of British gevernment.
He was the one who founded "South India Muslim Education Society" and "Kerala Muslim Education Association". These two organizations are the foundation of Educational reforms of Malabar Muslims.
He served as parliment party secratary of United Nationalist Party at Madrass Assembly from 1930 to 1936. Later he joined All India Muslim League and contested from Kurumbranad -Kozhikkode constituency. Though he lost the election to the candidate supported by Syed AbdulRahiman Bafaqui Thangal the election campign led by K.M. Seethi Saheb streanthened Muslim league in Malabar. Enventually, Bafaqui Thangal also joined Muslim League which spread the acceptance of Muslim League amoung Mappilas. He was elected to Loksabha in 1952 and 1957 from Malappuram and Majery respectevely. It is with his single hand effort Indian Muslims got excemptions from Special Marriage act 1954. Though he was a single member of IUML in the parliment, he well represented the Muslims and other minorites in the house. National leaders includeing then Prime Minister pandit Jawar lal Nehru paid due respect to his arguments. Miinority politics of independent India can not be written without mentioning Mr. Poker Sahib
He served as National Executive Member of Indian Union Muslim League and Vice President of Kerala State Committee. He passed away in 29th July 1969
