The Subaru Brat was a 1/10-scale, electric radio controlled scale model truck produced by the Tamiya Corporation. It was released 30 jul, 1983 [1], and re-released in 2007 [2].

The Subaru BRAT was the first car to use the open frame chassis, which later was used on the Frog, and the monster truck such as Tamiya Blackfoot and Mud Blaster which also shared the Subaru BRAT body. [3]

The re-release has several changes from the original model, some are upgrades that where available to the old model and other are new improvements.

  • Drive: Rear axle features a differential
  • Motor: Mabuchi RS 540SH
  • Speed controller: Electronic
  • Body: Both ABS plastic and transparent polycarbonate

The building instructions differs as well.
