Overlinking
Hi there. I saw that you recently linked a country and a year. This is what we call "overlinking". We generally don't link such things. It takes a bit of experience to figure out what to link and what not to link, but the best rule of thumb is to avoid concepts, people, and places that are universally well-known and unrelated to primary topic of the article. Broad concepts, such as years, countries, and languages, are rarely appropriate to link, and you should generally avoid linking them. If you have trouble, trying asking in the help desk (a forum for questions about how to edit Wikipedia), tea house (a community for new users), or village pump (proposals and clarifications of policy). If you'd like more personal help, you can contact me on my talk page, and I'll try to help you. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:09, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
