The Bangabandhu Gold Cup is an international association football tournament organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation as a tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. It was launched in 1996, but only two editions have thus far been played. The BFF had been looking to re-launch the tournament since 2009.It was finally given the go ahead in 2014 to be played in early 2015 with six nations participating.[1] It was finally given the go ahead in 2014 to be played in early 2015 with six nations participating.[2]
