Newark, NJ’s hometown girl, Shariese Katrell, has been singing since the age of six. Music has always been very important and has helped her through many difficult times including bouts with epilepsy. Shariese’s condition was diagnosed a year after high school. From then on life started to change. She had to drop out of college because she would pass out in class. She felt trapped in her house like a prisoner, having up to seven seizures a day worrying that no one could help her.
