Fernando Martín Zavala Lombardi (Spanish pronunciation: [feɾˈnando mar'tin saˈβala lomˈbaɾði]; born 16 February 1971) was until July 2016 the CEO of Backus y Johnston, a subsidiary of SABMiller. is currently the Prime Minister of Peru, from July 28, 2016.
Biography
Lombardi studied economics at the University of the Pacific, and obtained a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Piura; he also studied an MBA at the University of Birmingham in England.
He was assistant manager of Samtronics Peru. He was also Chief of Finanzas de Apoyo S.A. (Now Ipsos Perú S.A.), consultant and pollster.
In 1995 he entered public life as CEO of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI), a position he held until September 2000.
He was Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, during the government of Alejandro Toledo, happening in the position to Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, who previously had named as deputy minister in that portfolio.
In 2006 he began working at the company Backus and Johnston as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Relations. After three years in office, he was named the president of National Brewery – SABMiller Panamá.
In November of 2013 returns to Perú as President of Backus and Johnston.
Zavala has been a member of the Board of: Interbank, Alicorp, inmobiliaria IDE, Cerveceria San Juan, Banco Falabella, Enersur.
