00:47:17, 30 September 2016 review of submission by Pentuin

{{Lafc|username=Pentuin|ts=00:47:17, 30 September 2016|page= 00:47:17, 30 September 2016 review of submission by {{SUBST:REVISIONUSER} }} It's not clear to me what more I could possibly do to document Armor's history. The newspaper articles I referenced referred to his position during the Reagan administration, and most of his other history and writing is voluminously supported. His schooling and academic positions are all listed on his online CV. About the only thing I was unable to document was the bit at the end about where he is living now, and the details about his wife. It this point I'd appreciate some specific guidance on what else I can document. Some further biographical details and more personal information will be published soon, but probably not until 2017. The main issue has to do with providing information about his contributions to early statistical packages used for sociological research, which is of historical importance as we enter the digital era. The draft in question is Draft:David J. Armor. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:40, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Help Desk!! Could you tell me the time frame it takes to get a draft submission checked? Is it done in a queue syetem? If I edit the article does it revert to the back of the queue again? Thanks in advance Mase :-)

13:44:09, 30 September 2016 review of submission by Landoflizards

Is the Atlanta Journal Constitution an independent enough source?????

Do you want User:Landoflizards/Education Unleashed or Draft:Education Unleashed reviewed? There are two copies of your draft, which is not your fault but is due to an edit conflict between reviewers. If you want the version in user space reviewed, please tag the version in draft space for deletion so that the user version can be moved into its place. 13:48:58, 30 September 2016 review of submission by RG92DE

Hello; I thought I created a factual record of a very significant urban and social innovation, but was told that it was an 'essay'. The subject is certainly worthy of inclusion (I supplied the reference website links of what was created too). So I dont really know how to proceed (or just give up)... Thanks RG92DE (talk) 13:48, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The draft in question is Draft:Capital of Children (Børnenes Hovedstad). It has a promotional tone, which is the reason for the decline. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:12, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You provided the link to its own web site, but that is not an independent source. Notability is based on independent sources that provide in-depth coverage. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:14, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

14:22:39, 30 September 2016 review of draft by NeheScar

I submitted my article for review on August 12th, but I haven't heard back. Also, I continue to get this message that says this draft is not submitted for review. Have I done something wrong?

NeheScar (talk) 14:22, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft has been submitted for review. Your draft contains external links in the article body. They are not permitted. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:06, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

15:34:25, 30 September 2016 review of submission by Klkraft

Klkraft (talk) 15:34, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In the Wikipedia "Search" box, if one clicks "containing kenneth kraft" (the second option), the list of results begins with this message: You may create the page "Kenneth kraft", but consider checking the search results below to see whether the topic is already covered.

Please correct that first line to read: There is a page named "Kenneth Kraft" on Wikipedia.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Klkraft - Search terms are case sensitive (except for the first letter) so "kenneth kraft" and "Kenneth Kraft" are actually different searches, but "kenneth kraft" and "Kenneth kraft" are treated as the same. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 23:54, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, you, User:Klkraft, have a conflict of interest and should not be editing the article, although you may request edits on Talk:Kenneth Kraft in particular in order to correct errors. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:19, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

18:32:43, 30 September 2016 review of submission by DanSheman

My name is Jannie Wolff and I'm writing on behalf of Dan Sherman. I am looking over this article again to edit it for re-submission and I saw a note that because it has not been edited in six months it is eligible for deletion so I wanted to make sure you knew that we are working on it. Any suggestions you have before we resubmit it would be greatly appreciated. In looking it over it seems that Dan Sherman has added several reliable sources, so please let us know your thoughts on its current form as we would like to successfully resubmit it.

Blessings,

Jannie

Hi DanSheman - According to the history of the draft page nobody has edited it since the 6th of March this year, so I do not understand what you mean by "we are working on it". You need to actually edit the page ASAP to stop the deletion from going ahead. Another problem is that you and Dan Sherman are not allowed to edit from a single shared user account. You, Jannie Wolff, should register your own user account immediately and use only it to edit. User accounts may only be used by a single individual, shared or group accounts are not permitted in terms of the attribution requirements of the CC BY-SA 3.0 License that applies to all contributions to Wikipedia. 00:18:21, 1 October 2016 review of submission by HunterK23

I just want to know why my sources are unreliable. The page is about an author who is published and the references are links to reviews of his book. Do I need more?(If so, I have them). Or, are the references not valuable enough? I, as of right now, think they are, as Kirkus and Huffingtonpost & are both valid sources( both on your wikipedia website) known for their notability. To make matters clear, it is about an upcoming author with 1 published book and a second one coming. Maybe only 1 book is not enough to warrant a page? Thank you HunterK23 (talk) 00:18, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The draft in question is Draft:Ian Thornton. The question is not whether the sources are reliable or unreliable, but whether there are enough sources. Also, although the reviewer didn't note that the sources are not in the form of footnotes, that is a problem, especially for a biography of a living person. 07:31:19, 1 October 2016 review of submission by Samsundersam

I have created one article about a school in sand box. The review i got is "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources." Then i added school and some website references under the reference heading. And i have also added the link for some important words in my article. My question: Is that my article is correct now? Samsundersam (talk) 07:31, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Samsundersam: Your article submission lacks inline citations. Please se WP:IC for more. Additional citations are also recommended. Happy editing! JTP (talkcontribs) 19:41, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You have provided three references, none of them in-line, but two of them are to the school's own web site. Establishing notability normally requires at least two sources that are independent of the subject that have discussed it in detail. Please provide more independent coverage in addition to the school's own web site. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:10, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to propose a disambiguation page for the term "Torsa", but I don't know how to make one (or if it is appropriate - if the problem could be solved another way, that's fine too). I recently created the page "TransOral Robotic Surgery," and when this surgery is used to treat sleep apnea, it is commonly referred to as "TORSA." For that reason, I would like a search of "TORSA" or "torsa" or "Torsa" to direct the user to the TransOral Robotic Surgery article. The problem is, there's already an existing article titled "Torsa," about a completely different topic. (Additionally, there is an article titled "Torsa River," and there is not currently a disambiguation page for these two similarly-titled articles). So, it seems to me that the best solution would be a disambiguation page, reached by a search of "torsa" or "Torsa" (I think it makes sense for "TORSA" to go directly to the surgery article, and "Torsa river" or "Torsa River" to go directly to the article about the river), that contains links to all three articles. However, I do not have the knowledge/skills to create the disambiguation page. Thank you for your help!

Re: the COI notice. Please point out where the entry has gone astray, so that the problem can be addressed promptly. Klkraft (talk) 05:13, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The COI notice is because you have been editing the article. Robert McClenon (talk) 06:19, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
In other words, if you think that there is something that you can do to address the problem to make the tag go away, there isn't, short of not editing the article. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:45, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pakistanfame (talk) 09:02, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Is the draft about the person, or about an organization founded by the person? The draft doesn't seem to have a single focus. Also, the English in the article needs copy-editing. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:47, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

17:28:04, 2 October 2016 review of submission by Klkraft

Re: COI notice. Thank you, Robert McClenon, for your prompt response. I misunderstood a previous editor's encouragement to improve the article: "You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article" (acceptance notice from Anne Delong, 9.13.16).

I now understand that further editing is off-limits, and will honor that. Would you kindly remove the tag on my behalf? Thank you! Klkraft (talk) 17:28, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Klkraft (talk) 17:28, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No. I won't remove the tag only because you requested that I remove it. I will only remove it if another editor agrees that it is neutral. Your request illustrates the problems with COI editing. You want a perfect Wikipedia article about yourself, and you can't get it, because that is COI and causes the article to be tagged as COI, and you can't just request that I remove the tag. Go to the article talk page and discuss. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:47, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

17:17:42, 3 October 2016 review of submission by Warstic

I'm really confused by Wikipedia and creating our page. The entire process make zero sense. None of what we wrote is included in the article. Can someone please help?

Warstic (talk) 17:17, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia does not exist to provide you with a medium to advertise your company, which is clearly what you are here for. The reviewer has done you a large service by leaving a stub of your article. It would have qualified for speedy deletion as unambiguous advertising, except that they stubbed it for you rather than tagging it for deletion. Do not use the first person plural pronoun "we" to refer to an account. Wikipedia has a policy of "one account, one person". Robert McClenon (talk) 17:36, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Warstic, I left these comments on your user page also:
  • The draft for Warstic was not acceptable for wikipedia because it was not neutrally written.
  • But the company is very likely notable, based on the references found so far, so I started the draft again
  • please read WP:COI, and declare your connection to the company before you edit anymore
  • please request a new username, as your current username is not acceptable
Thanks. -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 17:21, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I'm the author of the Coupon Sherpa entry, which was deleted in September 2015. I've recently revised the entry to better meet the notability and guidelines and posted a message on the reviewer's talk page. However, I'm not sure where to go from here -- it appears my message has been archived on the reviewer's talk page, so I'm not sure if he/she received it or if I simply didn't add the comment correctly. Ultimately, I'd like for someone to review the latest entry for Coupon Sherpa and let me know if further changes are required. Thank you!

19:59:43, 3 October 2016 review of draft by Seapriestess

I'm working on my first page creation. How do I insert a photo that is currently on my desktop? Does the content box generate itself from the text or do I do that separately? Thank you!

Seapriestess (talk) 19:59, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Seapriestess. It looks like you've figured out the basics on image uploading and the infobox by now. I've gone over the draft and fixed the remaining formatting errors [1]. However, there's a big problem with those images. They were previously published at Amazon here and cannot be uploaded to Commons or here unless the copyright holder verifies that that they are willing to release them. You have listed the photos at Commons as your own work. Were you the photographer? If not, you cannot release them on behalf of someone else. Even if you took the photos, we cannot host them if they have been previously published elsewhere unless they were published under a compatible license ( e.g. Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0) which is clearly visible on the page where they were published. There is more information on this at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials (if you are photographer) and Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission (if you are not). I'll also leave some suggestions on your draft on how to improve it. The current referencing and tone make it unlikely to be accepted in its current state. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 10:38, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

{{Lafc|username=Nathancurtis1|ts=17:35:10, 5 October 2016|page= Here is the draft I'm trying to make.

It isn't necessary to put whole drafts here. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:28, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nathan David Lamardo Curtis (born September 23, 1993) is a poet and lyricist. Aside from being a gifted poet Nathan's lyrics are compared to Anita Baker and Richard Marx. Nathan has five poetry collections on the market. He was born in Freeport, Bahamas and now resides in New York. He is the President and Chairman of Helio Capital. Helio Capital creates resorts and casinos worldwide.

At only age 18 Nathan wrote his first poetry collection called, "Songs of a Melancholy Heart," this put him on the map in 2012. Before this first publication was made, he got one rejection after another. It was tough enough since he just graduated high school and was concentrating on college. Curtis often gets shy when he is recognized for the work he has done or when someone asks about his future work. Curtis often says "it isn’t an invasion of privacy, but he prefers to love the world inside his mind better than that outside his mind." Curtis never believed that he would make such impact on the world through writing but always dared to dream beyond what his eyes could see.

2014 was indeed the golden year and return of the talented Nathan Curtis “N8te” to the international literary world shocking everyone with not one but three publications. Nathan took a two-year writing break from 2012-2014. Nathan has also subsequently submitted his lyrics with his team for Broadway and to numerous international recording artist. Nathan is the youngest from the Bahamas to publish internationally with “Songs of A Melancholy Heart,” and to own his first business.

Nathan embraces not knowing what the future will bring. "Like poetry, I will go off part emotion, part brain and part love to decide my next move." Nathan wants to show his love for poetry and wants always to impact someone with his writing even after he is gone. Nathan says, “A great human being not only wants for today but for tomorrow as well, to dwell but not to physically dwell, to help even if not tangibly but emotionally.”

[1] [2]

I am not trying to sell anything, I am only trying to make a biography Wikipedia page for him. He is a very notable poet and lyrcist nationally. Nathancurtis1 (talk) 17:35, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This has already been discussed at the Teahouse at length. Are you Nathan Curtis? If so, read the autobiography guideline and the conflict of interest policy and consider that you are not writing about yourself in a formal neutral tone. (Maybe a poet can't be expected to be formal and neutral.) If you are Nathan Curtis, please stop using the third person; it doesn't succeed in distancing yourself from your writings about yourself. If you are not Nathan Curtis, you need to change your user name. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:28, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If not I look forward to hearing your thoughts and making those changes. Thanks again, Tom
