Stan Yagiello (born May 4, 1963) is a former American football quarterback who attended William & Mary.
Early life
Yagiello attended Livingston High School in Livingston, New Jersey.[1] He was a member of the state champion baseball and football teams where he was 1st team All-State in 1979 & 1980, and was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 16th round of the 1981 MLB Draft.[2]
College career
Yagiello chose to pass on baseball and attended The College of William & Mary, where he was a 4 year starter on the football team. Stan also played college baseball and led team with .437 Batting Ave. in 1984.[3]
Professional career
Washington Redskins
He went undrafted in the 1986 NFL Draft, but was signed by the Washington Redskins and then later was released when the team signed Doug Williams.[3]
Toronto Argonauts
On February 5, 1987 the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League signed Stan.[3][4]
Montreal Alouettes
After his release from the Argonauts, Yagiello signed with the Montreal Alouettes and was on the final roster when the team departed the league for 2 years.[3]
Pittsburgh Gladiators
He played in the Arena Football League for the Pittsburgh Gladiators in 1987.[3] He was signed after the release of backup [[Kevin Russell (arena)
