The A Lyga (Lithuanian for A league) is Lithuania's top level women's football league.
The champion qualifies for a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League. The league is above the LMFA First League.

Format
The championship consists of 20 matchdays. The teams are playing each other 4 times. 2017 A league season started on 17th April and the last matchday will be 29th of October. The 6th teams is expected to be relegated to the LMFA First League if the format won't be changed (expanded) in 2018.
