Charles Anthony Swainson (1820–1887) was an English theologian, Norrisian and subsequently Lady Margaret's Professor of Divinity, Master of Christ's College, Cambridge and a canon of Chichester.[1][a] His published works deal mainly with the Eastern Liturgies and the Creeds.
Works
- The Greek liturgies chiefly from original authorities (Cambridge, 1884)
- Several of his works have been reproduced by Project Canterbury (May 2013).
Notes
- ^ He should not be confused with the Reverend Charles Swainson M.A., Rector of Old Charlton and author of A handbook of weather folk-lore; being a collection of proverbial sayings in various languages relating to the weather (1873) and Provincial names and folk lore of British birds (1885).
