In my off time, I like to watch movies and listen to music, which just about makes me the most generic twenty-something ever. I also dabble in [[home recording]], and I play rhythm [[guitar]] (and occasionally [[bass guitar]]) in a local band. The music that I play and prefer to listen to tends to be heavily influenced by the music I listened to in my formative years: [[Soundgarden]], [[the Smashing Pumpkins]], [[Alice in Chains]], [[Nirvana]], and so on. I also have recently discovered the nuances of heavier music, e.g. [[Chimaira]], [[Slayer]], as well as any music by talented musicians, e.g. [[Dragonforce]], [[Dream Theater]]. I am a lover of all genres of music.

I am a twenty-five year old (October 3, 1981) living in Tallahassee, Florida.

I was born in the sleepy Gulf coast town of Venice, Florida. I attended Venice Elementary School (2nd-5th grades), Venice Area Middle School (6th), and Pine View School (7th-12th) before matriculating at Florida State University in 1999. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Studies from FSU in May 2003. I stayed on for my Master of Science degree in Information Studies, which I received in August 2005.

In May 2006, I returned to Tallahassee after having spent two semesters pursuing a Ph.D. at Indiana University's of Library and Information Science in Bloomington, Indiana. I am now employed as a Web developer at the College of Social Sciences.

In my off time, I like to watch movies and listen to music, which just about makes me the most generic twenty-something ever. I also dabble in home recording, and I play rhythm guitar (and occasionally bass guitar) in a local band. The music that I play and prefer to listen to tends to be heavily influenced by the music I listened to in my formative years: Soundgarden, the Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, and so on. Lately I have turned onto heavy metal, death metal, melodic death metal, etc. Ultimately, I am a fan of all genres of music.

I am a die-hard Apple fanatic. My first computer experience was programming LOGO on an Apple IIe. My parents bought an Apple Macintosh LC III in 1993, and I learned the secrets of that pizza box inside and out, programming HyperCard and FutureBASIC shareware -- some of which actually gained some popularity. The late 90s forced me to x86 due to price and availability, but I dabbled in FreeBSD and Redhat Linux until Windows 2000 finally offered the stability I preferred. Finally, in 2003, I bought my 12-inch PowerBook G4 (867 MHz) and 3rd-gen iPod, and I have no plans on switching back. (The iPod has since been replaced by a black 4GB nano.)
