Fonzo is an upcoming biographical crime film written, directed and edited by Josh Trank, with Tom Hardy starring as the notorious gangster Al Capone.

Synopsis

The film centers on Al Capone after his 10 year stint in prison as he wrestles with dementia.

Cast

Production

It was announced in October 2016 that Tom Hardy would star as Al Capone in Fonzo, which would be directed and written by Josh Trank.[1] Filming was initially eyed to begin filming in the summer of 2017, with Hardy stating it would be released sometime in 2018.[2] Hardy would instead film Venom in that time, and in March 2018 would announce Fonzo as his next project.[3] Later that month, Linda Cardellini, Matt Dillon, Kyle MacLachlan, Kathrine Narducci and Jack Lowden joined the cast, and filming was set to begin on April 2 in New Orleans.[4][5]
