Notability
Should Buckel have a page? It appears that it was just created after he died. If he wasn't notable in life, why is he after death? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.137.185.148 (talk) 03:22, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
- Well, judging from the current references now in the article, I would not leap to the conclusion that Buckel passes WP:GNG, but it would seem to me from the work that he did that he should have popped up in the news with regularity before the present time. If this is borne out by the facts, then this is not a WP:BLP1E. I also doubt that anyone crusading for its deletion would find much support from other Wikipedians. 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 10:10, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

Cause of death
The alleged cause of death is plastered all over the article: infobox, categories, lede, etc. The circumstancial evidence is strong and all the sources agree. But the sources all use terms like "apparent" and explicitly tell us that the Police are still investigating. So why have we turned it into incontrovertible truth? 2600:8800:1880:91E:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 10:21, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
- The NY Times, NY Daily News, The Guardian, CNN, and the BBC all state the cause of death as fact. From the NYT: "The police said Mr. Buckel was pronounced dead at 6:30 a.m. in what they said was a suicide." None of these sources use terms that suggest any amount of uncertainty like "alleged", "investigating", or "apparent", etc, so I think it is safe to state it as fact in WP voice. ―StvnW talk 12:14, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
