In 1969, Vollmer was awarded the Bronze Wolf, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting, at the 22nd World Scout Conference.[1] He also received the Silver Buffalo in 1965, and the highest distinction of the Scout Association of Japan, the Golden Pheasant Award, in 1968.[2]
