This came after a very public arrest and subsequent assault charge after an altercation with his brother-in-law at a May 2004 family party. On October 1, 2004 Michael Lohan pleaded guilty to assault of a NYC sanitation worker which stemmed from a December 2003 incident. Michael was sentenced to anger management classes.
