The village is a native home of 16th-century poet and ascetic, Habba khatoon, located approximately at half a mile from the national highway. The main occupation of people is saffron cultivation.

Etymology

There is no documental evidence although its being said that once upon a time this place was ruled by a king namely Chandan. He was defeated by some rival king and people chanted 'Chandan hara' which in english means Chandan lost and hence the name 'Chandhara'.
