Amanda Ava Koci (born February 16, 1993), best known by her stage name Ava Max, is an American singer and songwriter.[3] She is best known for her single "Sweet but Psycho", which reached number one in the UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Austria, Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, and New Zealand.

Career

Amanda Ava Koci was born on February 16, 1993, in Wisconsin to Albanian immigrants from Saranda and Tirana.[4][3] She started her career in the United States. Max was featured on Le Youth's single "Clap Your Hands" in 2017. She released her debut single, "My Way", through Atlantic Records on April 20, 2018.[5] It reached a peak of 38 on the Airplay 100 chart of Romania.[6] Her second single, "Slippin" featuring Gashi, was released on May 11, 2018.[7][8][9] Max's third single "Sweet but Psycho" was released on August 17, 2018. The song, produced by Cirkut, became Max's breakthrough hit, reaching number one in several countries including Sweden, Finland and Norway.[10][11] Max was also featured on David Guetta's album 7, on the track "Let It Be Me".[12] Ava is known for her Iconic Mac Cut which is basically cutting your hair unevenly with a side shorter.
