Elimination Chamber (2019) (also known as No Escape (2019) in Germany[1][nb 1]) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view event and WWE Network event produced by WWE for their Raw and SmackDown brands. It will take place on February 17, 2019, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.[3] It will be the ninth event promoted under the Elimination Chamber chronology. The event will crown the inaugural holders of the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.
Storylines
The card will include matches that result from scripted storylines, where wrestlers portray heroes, villains, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. Results are predetermined by WWE's writers on the Raw and SmackDown brands,[4][5] with storylines produced on WWE's weekly television shows, Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live.[6]
On the December 24, 2018, episode of Raw, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon announced that a new WWE Women's Tag Team Championship would be introduced in 2019.[7] On the January 14, 2019, episode of Raw, on her segment "A Moment of Bliss", Alexa Bliss unveiled the championship belts and announced that the inaugural champions would be determined at Elimination Chamber in a tag team Elimination Chamber match, featuring three teams from Raw and three teams from SmackDown, making the championship dual-branded.[8]
