The Trail of Governors is a project to place life-size bronze statues of every former Governor of South Dakota in Pierre, the state capital. As of 2018, twenty-two statues have been placed. [1] Three more statues will be added in 2019: Samuel H. Elrod, Archie M. Gubbrud and Dennis Daugaard. [2]
