Dream Girl is a 2019 Indian comedy film starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha.[4][5][6] The film is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and is co-produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under their banner Balaji Motion Pictures.[4][7][8] The principal photography began in December 2018[9] and is slated to release theatrically on 13 September 2019.[10][11]

Cast

Production

In November 2018 Ayushmann Khurrana announced Dream Girl to be written and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Aashish Singh. Nushrat Bharucha cast opposite him.[4] The lead character will have three accents in the film.[13] Ahmed Khan is choreographing the dances with Khurrana in sari.[14]

The principal photography began in December 2018.[9] Bharucha completed her part of filming in January 2019 in Mumbai.[15]

Marketing and release

The first look poster of the film was released on 3 December 2018. It presented Ayushmann Khurrana in a sari.[16] On 12 August official trailer of the film was launched by Balaji Motion Pictures.[17]

The film is slated to release theatrically on 13 September 2019.[10]

Reception

Critical response

Trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh gave the film four stars out of five, termed it as "Winner" and praised the performance of Ayushmann Khurrana, Annu Kapoor and direction of Raaj Shaandilyaa. He wrote, "Full-on entertainer with dollops of humour... Garnished with witty lines, direction hits the right chord."[18]
