"Frederick" is a song by American singer Patti Smith, later covered in 1986 by British singer Sandie Shaw. Shaw was most famous for her hit singles in the 1960s, but had made a comeback having been persuaded by Morrissey and Johnny Marr of The Smiths to cover one of their songs.
