Laura Perrins (née McGowan, born 1981)[1] is the Irish co-editor of The Conservative Woman.[2] She has written for The Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mail, ConservativeHome and The Catholic Herald.[3] In 2013, she was included in the BBC's 100 Women.[4]
Education
From Balbriggan, County Dublin, Ireland, she was educated at University College, Dublin (UCD), gaining a BCL; she then studied for an LLM in Cambridge. In 2003 Perrins qualified as a Barrister-at-Law from the King's Inns in Dublin and was called to the Irish Bar. In 2006 she qualified as a barrister for England and Wales.
Career
In 2013 she gave up work as a barrister to look after her children, and has campaigned for the rights of stay-at-home parents,[5] confronting deputy prime minister Nick Clegg on the issue on an LBC radio show.[1] She voted to leave the European Union in the 2016 European Union membership referendum. She remains an Irish passport holder.
Perrins has appeared on Question Time, Any Questions,[6] the Today programme and Woman's Hour, reviews the papers on BBC News, and Sophy Ridge on Sunday and on numerous occasions on Sky News as well as Today with Seán O'Rourke on RTÉ. She was profiled in the Irish Independent.
Personal life
Perrins lives with her husband and three children in East Dulwich, London.[1]
