Kicks 101.5 (WKHX-FM) is an Atlanta FM radio station that plays country music. Its city of license is Marietta, Georgia. "Kicks" debuted in 1980 after Capital Cities purchased the station.
Originally WBIE-FM(debuting in 1968), it simulcast the original WBIE-AM 1080 kHz. Station manager at the time James M. Wilder has a technology laboratory building named after him at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta. WKHX is owned by ABC Radio Atlanta, LLC, a subsidiary of American Broadcasting Company. This station is one of the stations being included in the impending merger between Citadel Broadcasting and Disney's ABC Radio.
It's the top-ranked country station in Atlanta, though it actually competes with its own sister station, WYAY "Eagle 106.7" FM, which plays more classic country.
