George Ducas is a country music singer and songwriter, best known thus far for his 1995 Top 10 single "Lipstick Promises".

Ducas, born on August 1st, 1971, in Texas City, TX, USA and raised in San Diego got his first guitar at the age of 10. He began writing songs in high school but only for his girlfriends, preferring not to perform professionally. However, that all changed soon after graduation from college in Nashville.

In 1991 he began his pursuit of a full-time music career. It was in Nashville that he met Radney Foster and the two co-wrote the song "Just Call Me Lonesome", which was a major hit for Foster in 1993. Ducas at this time was himself getting a growing reputation in the clubs for his live performances and he got his own recording deal with EMI.

In 1994 he made his first chart entry with "Teardrops", but it was his second single "Lipstick Promises" that burst him open to world wide acclaim in 1995. His debut album, the self-titled "George Ducas" achieved high acclaim in the United States Of America and sold well in the United Kingdom.

Two more singles charted by the end of 1996 (namely "Hello Cruel World" and "Everytime She Passes By") but the thunder caused by "Lipstick Promises" evaporated as the record label came under new management. In 1997 Ducas issued his second album "Where I Stand". Very little was heard from Ducas as a recording artist for sometime, but he continued to write songs and penned hits for others. Artists that have recorded his songs are many, including Garth Brooks, George Jones, Dixie Chicks, Trisha Yearwood, Radney Foster, Randy Rogers Band and Gary Allan.

In 2005 the Ducas penned "A Real Fine Place To Start", a number one hit recorded by Sara Evans. Ducas is currently working on his long awaited third solo album, due for release in the Spring of 2007.
