Skakavac (English: grasshopper) is a waterfall in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's located 12 km north east of Sarajevo, above the village of Nahorevo.[1] It is one of the tallest waterfalls in the Balkans, with a height of 98 meters.[2]The 98-meter cascade, which falls down a vertical limestone face, gives Skakavac Waterfall an impressive appearance. This is especially true in winter, when the cascade turns to ice, creating spectacular forms[3].The waterfall originates from a stream of the same name. It flows below the peak of Bukovik (1532 m) and into the Perak creek. Vegetation around the waterfall consists of various endemic and relict plants. Nearby trails are frequented by mountain bikers as well as hikers of differing experiences.

In 2002, Skakavac waterfall and its surroundings were declared as a monument of nature by Sarajevo Canton[4]'s government.
