Tyler Boyd article date format
Hi,
I can perfectly understand your logic for reverting the date format. However, MoS guideline I followed in making my edits is the following (MOS:DATERET), quoted below:
- If an article has evolved using predominantly one date format, this format should be used throughout the article, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic or consensus on the article's talk page.
- The date format chosen in the first major contribution in the early stages of an article (i.e., the first non-stub version) should continue to be used, unless there is reason to change it based on strong national ties to the topic or consensus on the article's talk page.
- Where an article has shown no clear sign of which format is used, the first person to insert a date is equivalent to "the first major contributor".
Currently, all three point to DMY, starting with the first date placed in the article (on 8 October 2012) and the majority of existing dates being DMY. That is why I made the edits that I made.
Assuming there is enough consensus to change the format ("strong national ties" being made somewhat more complicated due to dual citizenship), are you going to undertake the change of all the instances of DMY to MDY?
Again, I see your point entirely. But when I've done the same change that you did (and for the same reason), someone else reverted it for the reasons above. Therefore, I figured going with the existing format was the safest edit. Clearly, it's not a straightforward issue, no matter which way we go. ;)
Respectfully, 1980fast (talk) 23:26, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hey 1980fast, thanks for bring it to my talk page. My thoughts on this was the article had already been changed from Tyler Boyd (Footballer) to Tyler Boyd (Soccer). Then some of the main dates that stick out are his goal ones. He never scored for NZ, so the only goals listed in the body of the article where is ones he just got with USA. It seem to me it made more sense to just use the MDY format there (and the rest of the article) because otherwise it will just be a case of reverting people that pop into the article who want to put their stamp on it by changing it to American style. I'm not overally fussed, but see his page going forward, having more ties and more information added as his USA career advances. NZFC(talk)(cont) 23:44, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks, NZFC! I concur. Thanks for bringing consistency to the article. At the risk of telling you something you might already know, if you add the "use mdy dates" template at the top of the article, it will extend the format to the references, which will make the consistency complete. 1980fast (talk) 02:44, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks, 1980fast I wasn't aware of that. Will remember it for future articles. NZFC(talk)(cont) 02:57, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
- You're welcome, NZFC. Keep up the good work! 1980fast (talk) 05:12, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

Hello WOSO editors! What a 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France! There has been a lot of activity on tournament- and player-related Wikipedia articles with all of the worldwide coverage of the tournament and its players. Let's keep the momentum going. WOMEN IN SPORTS EDIT-A-THON FOR JULY + AUGUST! Get all the info here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Meetup/126 Sign up and help fill in the gaps within various articles related to women's football / soccer - whether they be players, teams, leagues, historical, administrators, referees, etc. Every little bit helps. Be sure to tag your article talk pages with {{WIR-126}}. These edit-a-thons are a great way to work with others to help bridge the gender gaps on Wikipedia. Thanks for your contributions!
WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in two currently active women's leagues)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}

Disambiguation link notification for August 13
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2019 Chatham Cup, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Seth Ward and Michael White (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

OFC U23 Tournament ASSISTS
Hello NZFC!
I've been trying to add the assist ranking to the OFC U23 article but it's been deleted twice.
Well, I actually don't have a reliable source like Oceania Football Confederation official website. But I watched 5 times each goal in the championship to make this ranking so I can assure it's right.
You can do the same to check this list, if necessary. All goal videos are available on Youtube (highlights videos) or in MyCujoo (Full matches)
We have some groups to discuss football in Oceania with people from all over the world, if you interest just message me
Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amadeu1997 (talk • contribs) 02:59, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- Amadeu1997, unfortunately this is a common mistake with new editors. You can't add information to Wikipedia unless you have a reliable source, even if you know for sure that the information is correct, it would be counted as original research. The other issue you have is Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information/stats, so while statistics is interesting, Wikipedia isn't really the place for it and most articles don't include assists, only goal scorers for tournaments.
- Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it is good that you are editing here and have an area of interest that you want to contribute to. I recommend you check out Wikipedia Football as it is a great place for templates, resources and to ask questions. NZFC(talk)(cont) 04:36, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
Thank you
...for stepping in to the situation of excessive reverting editing by the Texas teenager. Please keep an eye on these sitations? Because I am not editing as a registered editor, I am not well positioned to institute restraints to prevent disruptive editing. I will be happy if others can take such steps if they become necessary. An article in question is that of Evan O'Neill Kane, and my editing is very close to my professional expertise, and certainly has been undertaken with very great care. Cheers. 2601:246:C700:9B0:6D4C:597C:72AB:665E (talk) 22:06, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
- 2601:246:C700:9B0:6D4C:597C:72AB:665E, I did notice they seem to be reverting IPs just because in some cases instead of actually checking if the edits are vandalism. Was going to keep an eye on it and if causes problems, maybe see where to report it. NZFC(talk)(cont) 22:13, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
KYTV (TV) file
Hi NZFC. I'm sure you meant well, but the file had actually been provided with a non-free use rationale for the KYTV article before you made this edit. The rationale was added after the bot correctly removed the file but before you incorrectly removed it a second time. Perhaps you didn't notice this because you're using Twinkle, but it's easy to miss this type of thing if you actually don't take a look at the file's page to verify there's no rationale for the file's use. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:52, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- Marchjuly Thanks for your message. I did check the file but I obviously didn't scroll down the page far enough on my phone and thought it only had permissions to be used on a different article. Thanks for correcting my mistake! NZFC(talk)(cont) 11:09, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- No biggie but the edit sum you left might possibly be taken the wrong way. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:11, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah for sure, got to watch my comments. Murphy Law that I ended up doing what I accused other editor of doing. NZFC(talk)(cont) 11:15, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- In fairness to you, the other editor didn't leave an edit summary, which basically means they actually ended up kinda of doing what they mistakenly accused the bot operator of doing. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:30, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

Hey! I just want to say thanks for the invite! I am currently a semi-amateur wikipedia page writer. I am currently working on Butler's single seasons (As I am an Indy native). It's been a pleasure working with ya! I will see the invite out and join you on that. Thanks so much! - Gears

I'm a semi-amateur too, like to keep an eye on NZ football related articles so got into this years NCAA because Joe Bell plays for Virginia and Noah Billingsley plays in the St Marys team (Both national team players). Update on NCAA DI Tournament Team Names
As per the previous made edit with St. John's and St. Mary's, the team names are added with that in the official NCAA website on the bracket page. Following that, my belief was that they should have their state names next to their University Name, no matter if there is no other school with that name in Division I. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DrGearsKaktus1234 (talk • contribs) 19:07, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
- @DrGearsKaktus1234: Actually that is a good point and we should go with official source. I agree we should change it back and maybe just put a note on the tournament talk page as well. NZFC(talk)(cont) 20:01, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
- @NZFC: Yea. Let's go ahead and do that. Official source always matters. 20:17, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages
I see you recently accepted a pending change to December 23 that did not include a direct source.
You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the content guideline and the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. All new additions without references are now being either reverted on-sight or in some cases where the patroller is especially motivated, immediately sourced. I've gone ahead and un-accepted this edit and backed it out.
All the pages in the Days of the Year project have had pending changes protection turned on to prevent vandalism and further addition of entries without direct sources. As a pending changes patroller, please do not accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you and please keep up your good work! Hi NZFC, Pls note that the height is as per sherdog.com for all MMA fighter - the source info is at the bottom of the page - see sherdog Tony Ferguson. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 10:33, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Cassiopeia sorry this maybe my bad. So is Sherdog a more reliable source for information than the UFC website? And as I type that I think I see where I have gone wrong. He is an MMA fighter and the Sherdog website is the source for MMA fighters. Thank you for fixing that for me. NZFC(talk)(cont) 10:38, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi NZFC, Good day. UFC is the primary source and Sherdog is the most comprehensive, largest MMA fighter database and a secondary sources. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 13:12, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Your objections to my edits
I have added the citation to the Kreis Schubin page as you suggested. Please inform me before you delete any other edits done by me, so that I can address your objections and make the necessary changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fereydoonshah (talk • contribs) 10:47, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- Kia ora Fereydoonshah seems we crossed talk pages. You will see I've raised a query about the adding of all this informaiton on Incidents noticeboard. I only came across your editing because that was unsourced, you appear to have done enough edits to know, everything you add has to have a source with it. Will leave the rest up to the discussion, thanks. NZFC(talk)(cont) 10:55, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
Could you tell me why you have raised this incident about my editing? It was a single page in which I had forgotten to mention the citation. I have mentioned the source in all other edits. As I mentioned, I requested you to inform me personally in case of errors on my part. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fereydoonshah (talk • contribs) 11:01, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

AIV
I've blocked 138.0.116.11 per your report. Just a tip for AIV - admins patrolling it are not looking to do research, they're looking for obvious vandalism that needs a block now. When you get an editor like that where every individual edit looks reasonable on the face of it (Sure, Japan might be playing France. Sure, Kim Jong Un might be attending that event. Sure, Japan might be having a friendly against Nagoya Grampus) it's quite helpful if you can pick out an individual edit and explain briefly why it's specifically wrong or disruptive. If an admin at AIV can't (a) read your summary, (b) check the contributions, and (c) agree that it needs blocking within, say, 30 seconds, they're just going to move on. I just thought I'd mention this, as I actually saw your report this morning and just moved on because there was other, more clear and urgent, stuff to deal with. Cheers and keep up the good work. ~ mazca talk 19:59, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
- Kia ora Mazca thank you for the advice, that is good to know and will keep in mind for future reference. Makes sense to me to make it as easy as possible for you guys to understand what vandalism we are seeing. NZFC(talk)(cont) 20:03, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Upcoming US vs Australia match
Hey mate, just wanted to point out that the upcoming US vs Australia soccer match isn't "fake". See the reports for example on Fox Sports and MLS. I haven't restored it to the page since it hasn't been officially confirmed and finalised yet. But it does seem that it will happen :) --SuperJew (talk) 06:31, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
- @SuperJew: sweet as, can be restored later. IP though has been banned as putting on fake matches for other pages. NZFC(talk)(cont) 07:13, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
The editor can blank their talk page if they like. Drmies (talk) 15:42, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Drmies: All good, just thought WP:KEEPDECLINEDUNBLOCK that the block needed to show on the page. I expect that when this latest block ends, IP is going to continue their editing style again as well. NZFC(talk)(cont) 17:45, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- I would not be surprised. Note that I revdeleted some of their more blatant racist claims. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 19:06, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- Please take special note of the last sentence of WP:KEEPDECLINEDUNBLOCK. Edit warring with blocked editors is a particularly fruitless activity, and just makes a bad experience even worse. – bradv🍁 22:25, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

Roy Krishna
Hi NZFC - please follow the template guidelines as laid out by WikiProject Football when making edits to articles like you've done on Roy Krishna. You can find the guidelines here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players. Thanks. Rupert1904 (talk) 19:49, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
- It's a suggest layout, not required and personally looks silly when someone has spent a number of years in one league like Krishna has in the A-League. I point to Lionel Messi template that doesn't met those requirements. NZFC(talk)(cont) 20:37, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
- Rupert1904 Please don't revert until it's discussed. The guidelines say This page provides a suggested layout for footballer biographies. While nothing is set in stone, this layout is used in most of the best biographies as judged by the community, and following it is a good idea. That doesn't mean every single article has to follow them. As I've pointed out, I don't believe it is best for Krishna article. NZFC(talk)(cont) 20:46, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Page on osteoporosis.
The page on osteoporosis is wrong. However, I do not have any experience editing Wikipedia articles so when I cited my sources in the editing part I just put on the links. Still the studies clearly show that the current version is supporting a myth about dairy. However, my version was declined because of lack of sources. I guess the problem is I didn't edit the citations properly and the links alone are not enough.
Current version however has NO studies to back it up.
So if you can do a better job editing - please do - here is an article heavily backed up by studies showing that dairy is good for bone health and protein leading to acidosis is one of the dumbest myths ever: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/is-dairy-good-for-your-bones

I agree with you it doesn't appear will sourced but making changes without providing one yourself isn't the way to do it. Now you have provided one source but it is not a reliable one, so I won't be making any changes. What's the problem in copying a template from some other page? It was done just to save time. There is no unique coding or any copyright on codes. Why do you bother asking me why i'm not updating the entire page 2020-21 New Zealand Football Championship. I already do part of it and I also have other things to do. — Martijnvdam97 (talk) 16:31 10 January 2021 (CET)
- Martijnvdam97 I told you why I asked. It's bloody annoying someone that does a half arse job updating a page. Better to update less pages and do everything than half arse a lot of them like you're doing. NZFC(talk)(cont) 15:40, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
I don't like you, then better do it yourself if you think it's a problem. I see it as helping this community and then every bit can help.
- I don't give a fuck if you don't like me Martijnvdam97. I think you are lazy but you don't seem to care about that either. NZFC(talk)(cont) 15:52, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
That is not very nice of you to say, I don't like your language. I think you are very frustrated because of the lockdown. I understand that it takes a toll on all of us, but I see no need to use that kind of language in this friendly community.
