Fast & Furious (originally The Fast and the Furious) is a media franchise centered on a series of action films that are largely concerned with illegal street racing, heists and spies. The franchise also includes short films, a television series, live shows, video games and theme park attractions. It is distributed by Universal Pictures. |
|||
The first film was released in 2001, which began the original trilogy of films focused on illegal street racing, and culminated in the film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006). The series underwent a change with Fast & Furious (2009), which transitioned the series toward heists and spying, and was followed by four sequels. F9 is set to be released in 2021, with a tenth and eleventh film planned. The main films are collectively known as The Fast Saga. |
|||
Universal expanded the series to include the spin-off film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019), while its subsidiary DreamWorks Animation followed this with the animated web television series Fast & Furious Spy Racers. Soundtrack albums have been released for all the films, as well as compilation albums containing existing music heard in the films. Two short films that tie into the series have also been released. |
|||
The series has been commercially successful and is Universal's biggest franchise, and ranks as the tenth highest-grossing film series ever, with a combined gross of over $5.8 billion.[1] Critical reception for the first film was mixed, and mostly negative until the fifth and later films, which were more positively received. Outside of the films, Fast & Furious has been the focus of other media, including attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood, live shows, commercials, many video games and toys. It is considered the vehicle that propelled lead actors Paul Walker and Vin Diesel to stardom.[2 |

Heartlands High School (HHS) is an 11–16 mixed secondary school with academy status in Wood Green, London, England. It was established in 2010 as a community school and became an academy in 2013.
The project was commissioned by Building Schools for the Future (BSF), was funded by £33 million in tax-payer's money and was constructed by Wilmott Dixon.[3]
Academy status
In 2011, discussions were instigated to convert Heartlands to an 'academy'. Opinion was mixed, but ultimately the governors' consensus fell in favour of turning the school into an academy. The change prompted governor George Meehan to step down over clashes with Garrill.[3]
Alumni
Notable students who have gone to Heartlands include: Dwayne Johnson, Danny DeVito, Daniel Lara, Michael Conner Humphreys, Andrew Windsor, Etrit Hashani and Lester Green.
School Success
This is highly debatable as a result of consistent mismanagement and poor bag and uniform design. A recent student poll has shown that depression is endemic to the school's key stage four students and over 75% placed blame on being bullied for having to wear the school backpack.
Pest Infestations
Heartlands has faced a number of pest infestations including: rats, seagulls, pigeons. The school has yet to properly reduce the infestations and as of January 2021, over 500 students have had to go to student services for a wet wipe.
