Antoine d'Aquin born in 1629 in Paris and died on 17 May 1696 in Vichy was a French physician. In April 1672, he became the king's first doctor in the service of Louis XIV.[1][2]

Antoine studied medicine in Montpellier, became a doctor there (1648) and in 1656 acquired the survivorship of his father's office.[2] In the same year (24 October), he married the niece of Antoine Vallot (fr), king's first doctor in the service of Louis XIV.[3]
On 18 April 1672, he succeeded Antoine Vallot as king's first doctor[4], after eight months of intrigue.
