A house party is a party thrown to fill a house, usually with maximum musical volume, while the host's parents are away. House parties typically include plenty of alcohol, as well as possibly other drugs, such as marijuana and Ecstasy or coke.
House Party is also the name of a movie released in 1990 starring Christopher Reid, Christpoher Martin, and Robin Harris. It was written and directed by Reginald Hudlin. There are three sequals, the fourth movie (Down to the Last) does not star Reid, Martin, or Harris (who died a few days after the first movie).
