Atchanan (Template:Lang-hy; Template:Lang-az, anglicized: Khalaj) is a village in the Kapan Municipality of the Syunik Province in Armenia. The village was populated by Azerbaijanis before the exodus of Azerbaijanis from Armenia after the outbreak of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In 1988-1989 Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan settled in the village.[3]
The village is located about 100 km south-east from the Khalaj archaeological site in Azerbaijan.

Population
The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (ARMSTAT) reported its population as 154 in 2010,[4] down from 161 at the 2001 census.[5]
