2021 storming of the United States Capitol overlinking RfC

This seems like something that you could have just boldly done, or at most mentioned reasons for on the talk page. Did you already try that, or is there some other reason that you felt an RfC was warranted? VQuakr (talk) 19:31, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

@VQuakr: I felt that since the page was controversial, that it would be good to make sure that the consensus wasn’t feeling like the links were fine. I’ll remove unnecessary links, and if it gets reverted, I’ll continue the RfC. 4D4850 (talk) 19:34, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

ANI

Hi 4D4850 - I'm reaching out to you because I've seen you hanging around ANI a lot recently, and commenting on quite a lot of threads. ANI is an open forum, anyone can read it and comment. However, speaking generally, folk expect people commenting there to be experienced, and very conversant with policy and best practice. I'm not saying that any particular comment you've made there is problematic, but I have seen cases before where new accounts take too much of an interest in ANI and end up rubbing people up the wrong way. After all, we're here to build an encyclopaedia, but you've made substantially more edits to ANI than you have to any other page here. Can I politely suggest that you maybe spend a bit more time contributing elsewhere? WP:GOCE is a place a lot of people get involved with, or you could try writing an article? WP:FIRST is a good guide to doing your first one. Trust me, it's a lot more enjoyable than watching people argue. Cheers GirthSummit _(blether) 19:07, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

I choose to do the maintenance tasks on ANI, and I learn quite a bit of policy while lurking there. I know I can help the encyclopedia in more direct ways, but at the moment I choose to do tasks for ANI. Carbon Tax Edit

Hello! I was curious as to why you removed the copy edit tag on Carbon Tax. It was right after I made some copy edits, so it seemed to lend the idea that you did it because of me. I am essentially certain that that page needs more copy-editing, but I do not have the time to do all the work needed there right now. Unless you have information that I don't or seriously believe that the page should no longer be tagged, I politely suggest you revert your edit.
