The 2020 season was the Arizona Cardinals' 101st in the National Football League, their 33rd in Arizona and their second under head coach Kliff Kingsbury. It was also the first full season since 1971 without the ownership of Bill Bidwill, who died during the 2019 season.

The team improved on their 5–10–1 record from the previous year; however, the Cardinals went 2–5 after a 6–3 start, and missed the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season. The Cardinals finished tied with the Chicago Bears for the last Wild Card spot, but lost the tiebreaker based on record vs. common opponents.[A]

There were two main highlights fans remember from this season. One came in Week 7 when they were flexed into primetime against the 5–0 Seattle Seahawks and handed them their first loss of their 12–4 campaign, a game where Arizona never had the lead until sudden death overtime thanks to a Zane Gonzalez 48-yard field goal. The other highlight of the Cardinals' season was a play deemed the "Hail Murray," a 43-yard Hail Mary pass from Kyler Murray to DeAndre Hopkins in the waning moments of a game against the Buffalo Bills, who went on to lose the AFC Championship game.
