Revision as of 13:32, 15 March 2021

Greetings from a Serrano revitalization participant

Hi, I'm Chuck Coker, cited as the source of Serrano information on the Ethnologue page. http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=ser

Dorothy Ramón, the last person who spoke Serrano as a first language died in 2002. There are people working on the saving of the language from extinction, myself among them. There are a handful of people still alive that grew up in a home where Serrano was spoken, even though they only speak it as a second language.

If there is anything I can contribute to this article, please let me know. If I don't know something, I can probably find out.
