    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting a refund of a deleted article.

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    List of composers who studied law

    Looking for article to be restored to draft space and eventually mainspaced. When the article was put up for deletion, initially it considered of a bare, unsourced list. However I added a significant portion of prose, removed most of the list, and was told that these edits were out of the scope of the article.     @Graeme Bartlett:; Accusations of being a paid editor? I have never written anything on Wikipedia in exchange of money, as admitted on my COI page. I'm close to Ashok Kumar Pandey (see my talk page as well), that's it; I don't want to have any COI issue, which may become a reason of discredit of my works for the encyclopedia, and this is why I requested a G7 deletion.     OK I have mistaken the User:TheAafi/COI earlier version as saying that there was payment. Thanks for responding here, as a G7 can be overturned. But given the AFD, that would have to be reopened if it was restored. I think it is best to leave it alone, and allow the enthusiastic lobbyists above to write their own draft.     Meg Meeker

    Meg Meeker is obviously a public figure with over 600,000 followers on Facebook and multiple top-selling books on parenting published by major publishers like Penguin Random House. You can also Google her name to see how many results come up. One of her books is even noteworthy enough for its own wikpedia page: Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters. The original Wikipedia page might not have been the best researched for secondary sources but plenty can be found. I think if that was the case, the appropriate action would have been to put Template:Primary sources atop the page, not delete it.     This gamesmanship between you two has got to stop. It's becoming disruptive and it's now coming from both of you. Trying to be the first edit on a draft of a possibly upcoming movie is pointless. A draft was deleted, another editor restarted it, why restore deleted edits so that someone gets "first credit"? On a draft article? No one is keeping score but you guys. Wikipedia is a ginormous project, there should be room for both of you to contribute articles and maybe one day even work together.

You claim my sources are internal, they are all external and from press articles. You claimed it was promotional, when in reality what I did was eliminate bias from the original page in spanish, that was immediately approved when I did so, and then translated the unbiased version. My COI is minimal, I work for another company and temporarily I'm checking on other companies from my city to make sure that there is a version of their pages in english when they are international. The only "promotion" here is trying to make as much information from this area of northern Spain available. Please, I need to find my article again so I can fix it.     Hi Debt, I had already read them since I've spent since November working on my first article. It's been deleted without meeting the speedy deletion criteria. Since you deleted it, I can't even check to see if I find what you are talking about. If it meets the criteria in other wikipedia languages, why you decided it doesn't in english? the page talked about: What kind of company it is. It's history. The type of products they managed since it's an huge industry and telecom doesn’t mean anything anymore. The technology it uses. The associations it participates in. I've spent months learning about the telecom industry and reviewed similar international companies and worte the article in the same fashion. Could I at least recover the text to review it?     Dear deb, I'm not fighting to see who knows more, this is not personal. I'm asking for my text back to review it. You are listed on the page of moderators that are willing to give deleted articles info to users, furthermore, in the deletion policy it's stated that I can request access to a copy of my deleted article:

Note that these requests are likely to be denied if the content has been deleted on legal grounds (such as defamation or copyright violation), or if no good reason is given for the request." My genuine reason is I don't have a copy of the page, and it is of my creation, not an edit from another user and that has factual information that I'd like to recover in order to be able to review the article and learn so I can participate in the future.

    Dear Deb, the content was not promotional. The speedy deletion criteria also states that it has to be on the grounds of "Unambiguous advertising or promotion material". I don’t see how can you claim that about a company's history, the organizations it participates in and so on... I accept that I have to review my text and learn, in order to be able to perfectly meet the wikipedia guidelines as much as it's possible, but I don't accept the claim that my article was "promotional" because that is simply not true: According to wikipedia: "Promotion (marketing), one of the four marketing mix elements, comprising any type of marketing communication used to inform or persuade target audiences of the relative merits of a product, service, brand or issue" The page you deleted didn't mention product or service attributes, in fact, I had deleted all qualifying adjectives from the spanish draft. My claim, I insist, is not personal. I made a thorough work and I want to be able to review and improve it.

    Hi Bishonen, thank you for your reply. I agree with Deb and Orangemike as well, but I don't agree with discouraging new users with personal attacks and rude replies instead of facilitating the tools we need to learn and progress (or declining in a polite way). This was my first article and my first attempt in English wikipedia, and I had already been practicing on Spanish wikipedia as well. I'm currently working on a draft for a translation of a historical technological company from Germany that I found interesting and I immediately stopped to avoid making mistakes there as well. I am just requesting the assumption of good faith and being able to review my mistakes in order to practice and learn. The COI was displayed in good faith since I have been on projects with the company per se (none related to wikipedia), and the fact that they did not care for wikipedia and had had the same page on Spanish Wikipedia since 2013 sparked this personal journey. I noticed historical figures of international interest not properly translated into english as well, therefore I understand there is a lack of users and collaborators from Spain in general that know proper english (this country was under an autarchic dictatorship up until the 70s, therefore most adults don't know english).

    Besides all that, I personally don't find acceptable this kind of replies (and this weren't addressed to me) in a professional and scholar environment: - I would have hoped that before editing you would have read the guidelines and made some effort to abide by them.     • Declined pending further information. This was undeleted over six months ago with a pledge that it would be worked on, but no edits were made to improve the entry for resubmission. Articles for creation is not an indefinite hosting service for material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia's article mainspace. We may be willing to restore it again, but only if you provide a definite assurance that you actually intend to work on it and provide a short description of what you intend to do to improve it to meet our policies and guidelines.
