Recall
Hello Jazz, hope you are fine. I just want to know about recall process. What is it? –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 04:38, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- Kammill, if you are talking about administrator recall, then recall is a informal and non-binding process where individual administrators by choice say that if certain criteria are met they will resign as an administrator. The administrator will define a number of steps to be taken. All a editor would need to do is follow these steps, and as long as they are all completed and satisfied, the administrator would ask to resign. This removal is seen as "under a cloud", so to get the tools again they would need to have another WP:RfA. However, an administrator could pull out of the process at any point including after all the steps are completed. It requires that an administrator keeps their word. This is not the only way for an administrator to have their tools removed. At the moment the only way for an administrator to have their tools removed without them resigning is for the Arbitration Committee to remove them. There is a proposal which is being considered by the community to create a process where the community can remove the tools from an administrator, which is at WP:DESYSOP2021. Anjum Lucknowi
thanks for that cleanup. Should Draft:Anjum Lucknowi be IAR/CSDed or does it need to molder until June when it's six months stale? Thanks! StarM 20:12, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- Star Mississippi, hi. Praxidicae and I thought it best that it be used as a honeypot. However, if you think it's best deleted go ahead. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 20:14, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- Nope, that makes sense to me. I remember one version early in the article history but haven't followed it recently. Thanks! StarM 20:19, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- I’m a big fan of using draft space as a honeypot in this respect and generally don’t like stuff being salted there because it’s way easier to evade and throw it into main space. VAXIDICAE💉 20:44, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- Definitely wasn't advocating salting draft, sorry if that wasn't clear. Unrelated, but while we're here and since you're way more versed in some of the socks, is there an editor who usually creates articles about his own "films" that are YouTube? Special:Contributions/GabrielCombs seems familiar, but I can't place it. There is a channel and he appears to exist, but I can't see how these are in any way legit as they'd be trademark violations, among other issues. I draftified the one that was in mainspace as there was no applicable deletion criteria, but I'm not sure if there's anything further needed. Thanks either way StarM 20:56, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- Star Mississippi, nothing comes to mind. I think I've only seen one sockmaster which promotes their YT channel, and they are not this user. If you want to ask other editors who are versed in socks, perhaps a post at Wikipedia talk:Sockpuppet investigations. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 21:10, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you, will do. Have a good evening. StarM 21:24, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Is there any problem?
Hello Jazz. You see I'm here again with a question. Is there any problems is the following two pages:
If there are any problems, can you please sort them out. I requested this message to be sent yesterday, but it is still pending.Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 14:03, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- Kammill, hi. Your request should be dealt with soon. I would note that this message probably does not need to be sent to blocked users as they cannot join. This includes ProudIndian007. Also its probably best, with the message as it is currently worded, to not send the message to those already a part of this. For example Titodutta is listed as a member, but is in the list you would send the invite message too. I might be able to take a further look later, but at the moment I can't filter out these users from your list. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 14:58, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- Dreamy Jazz, I added Titodutta (and all those to make them aware about the collaboration). Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 15:40, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- I see. I got your (Kammill) Wiki-email also. It is a pretty hectic time. Anyway the first place to initiate the discussion is the India noticeboard and wait for a week. Getting more members signing up is a good idea, however your message does not clearly menion the action point. "Add your name as a participant" — then what? Would send another message to them to start the monthly collaboration? From my experience of both successful and failed attempts on monthly collaborations, I feel what you need is: a) get the event page ready, b) notify the noticeboard and the list members to suggest/voice on the nominations, c) start the editing work of the month. As step 0) you can inform the noticeboard that you are interested to work on this, and see if anyone wants to join you or offer any suggestion. Note: You may also see the past discussion on the noticeboard to understand why it stopped or the reviving attempts. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 15:09, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- Titodutta, thank you for the suggestions. I thought I will send another mass message on the 1 April to the participants and inform them, what to do. I will write on the noticeboard aslo (per your suggestion) and see if members join. Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 15:51, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Discretionary sanctions
Hello Jazz, hope you are fine. Yesterday I came across a user talk page and found a note given by one editor to other about discretionary sanctions. It was something written like: want to make you aware of the administrative ruling in effect
. Do you know anything about these sanctions since you are also sysop. Regards, Hulged ⟨talk⟩ 04:41, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hulged, yes. Discretionary sanctions can be applied by either the Arbitration Committee or the community. For an editor to be sanctioned under these discretionary sanctions they need to be "aware" of the existence of said discretionary sanctions. Being aware includes having another editor post on your talk page with a standard notice for that area. The rules around awareness are complicated, but are detailed here. These discretionary sanctions can be used by an administrator to sanction someone for behavior after they were aware for the purposes of the sanctions, and also place page restrictions (including protecting the page, revert restrictions and other restrictions which are considered useful for the smooth running of Wikipedia). These restrictions cannot be lifted by anyone except the administrator who placed them (if they are still an administrator), at AN by having a clear consensus of uninvolved editors, at AE by having a clear consensus of uninvolved administrators, or at ARCA by the passing of a motion.
- You won't be sanctioned using the discretionary sanctions until you are aware and then are disruptive in the area which you are aware has discretionary sanctions. A list of these areas is at Wikipedia:General sanctions § Active sanctions. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 08:47, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- One more thing, I'm your adoptee (Kammill). I have been renamed. –Hulged ⟨talk⟩ 09:49, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Nirmal Gehlot
Hi Dreamy Jazz! Since you protected Nirmal Gehlot from being recreated, you might be interested in the new article Nirmal Gehlot Utkarsh. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 12:50, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- GoingBatty, thanks for alerting me to this. I've blocked the account and deleted their creations. I've also filed a pro forma SPI to note the account's existence. Happy editing, Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 13:17, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
Another shortcut request: Gender and Sexuality
Hey. Now that WP:ARBGG leads to the old case, can we maybe get a WP:GENSEX shortcut for Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gender and sexuality? Thanks, as always, El_C 13:56, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- Posteemptive thanks! El_C 15:02, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) created that shortcut and added a shortcut box next to the remedy. Happy editing and mopping, Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 15:03, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
Bindheswari Prasad Keshri (previously not in a separate section)
In the site https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bindheswari_Prasad_Keshri,
please rectify the name of the concerned person. His actual name is Prof. Bisheshwar Prasad Keshari. He used to be my father-in-law. It would be appreciated if you could do the needful. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 42.104.72.2 (talk) 11:13, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello IP. I have moved the page based on two sources in the article ([1] and [2]). Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 22:13, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
Talk page archive
Hello Jazz, Lowercase sigma bot lll did not archive my talk page threads. Will you please see what is the problem. –Hulged ⟨talk⟩ 06:40, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hulged, that's because due to that you have selected the parameter 'minthreadsleft' to 3. Therefore, the bot will not archive 3 sections. If you change it to 0, then the bot will archive it. Thank you. Gold ★ 786 08:53, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- Gold Star 786, it was not the issue. Actually I was renamed from Kammill to the Hulged and I forgot to update the configuration for bot to archive my talk page. –Hulged ⟨talk⟩ 08:57, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hulged, No, that's not the issue. Renaming your account won't stop the bot. I think I've corrected it now. Let's see whether the bot archives it now or not. Thanks! Gold ★ 786 09:01, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
Username change request
Hi, will you change my username to "Gold Star". My username is too long. Thanks! Gold ★ 786 07:47, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)Gold Star 786, username change requests are best dealt at WP:RENAME. I'd recommend you to make a request there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hulged (talk • contribs) 09:11, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
Sock puppet at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Clarification and Amendment
Dreamy Jazz, Tataqp has been indefinitely blocked as a sockpuppet of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/AK at Aquila Polonica Publishing. After the block, I struck their comment following Wikipedia:Dealing with sockpuppets#Striking because other users (such as myself) referred to this long statement in which this publisher tried to argue their books should be used because of the "devastating long-term impact of postwar communist disinformation warfare" in other sources. This strikeout was reverted by Volunteer Marek (who has also taken upon himself to restore PR material (literally taken from the press kit of the publisher) introduced by the sock). I apologize if I overstepped in striking out the sock puppet myself. Now that the sock puppet has been indefinitely blocked, could you strike him out?--Bob not snob (talk) 05:57, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
