This is a well-intentioned page about a jazz musician who deserves this much recognition, but there are a lot of problems with it. The writer was semi-literate, which is a forgivable fault. I started fixing the grammar, but ran into worse problems than the grammar. The writer appears to rely heavily on an interview with Clarke from a website that no longer exists, and it contains what I'm sure are errors of fact. Clarke playing with Charlie Parker at age 16-17? That would be 1949-50. Parker did play in Washington in 1952, and Clarke may have been part of the ensemble, but the Washingtonians were Duke Ellington's band from the 1920s. I'll try to do some more research, but any real jazz scholars on Wiki should check this page out. Tad Richards (talk) 15:05, 15 May 2020 (UTC)Tad Richards[reply]

Hey least I did the best I could to describe Mr. Clarke. I'm not that literate. BTW this is NOT an error of fact. His widow actually wrote a bio about him on that page which no longer exists. She knows him pretty well. She told me everything about him. That's why I had to get all the info from this woman and put it at Wikipedia. Including the audio clip of Mr. Clarke doing a interview back 1988 before his death. Ypu say I have problems of being semi literate, I say you're wrong. Ceedub88 23:08, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
